At it's core, Victoria 3 is an economic management game. Your ability to grow your empire heavily depends on how well you can manage your economy - balancing raw resource production, imports/exports, refinement and consumption. This is definitely not a world-domination type game like Civilisation, you'll need to pick your battles carefully and plan ahead.
Having played through an entire 100 year campaign, I did encounter a few bugs but none which were utter showstoppers. I also really appreciated that the tutorials told me not just how to do something, but why to do it too.

Fantastic from start to end. A good dose of humour with an interesting, and highly branching, plot.

Fun to play and has suprisingly easy controls that don't make the game feel dumbed-down.

Age of Empires is a classic among PC games, and while still played widely today it was starting to show its age - e.g. low framerate cap, poor networking support, no high resolution support. The HD edition updates the game to meet modern standards making it better than ever before. Recommended both for newcomers and those who played the original when it first came out.

Amazingly fun, even when your ship is on fire, has been drained of oxygen, has no working weapons and only one surviving crew member. (This happens fairly often)

Fiendishly difficult, but great fun to play.
