Right up front, I really liked this game.

I'd call it an adorable game (which it is) but that doesn't feel like the right description when it has much more depth than just being cozy. The setting isn't all rainbows and butterflies, you arrive to a dying desert town and it's your job to help save it by being the town Builder. There's crafting, there's combat, farming, lots of story, and a whole lot of really loveable characters to get to know. The characters in particular are a highlight of this game and the way you slowly get to know them is really charming.

I played My Time at Portia and I really enjoyed it, and I like Sandrock even more. There are some great quality of life changes in things like inventory management, some little details like hand-holding on dates that are just adorable, and while the desert setting is more harsh the game feels just as heart-warmingly cozy. I played through the entire storyline and really enjoyed it all. As a bonus, the devs are still adding new content to it even after it came out of early access. I definitely recommend this game for anyone who's looking for a relaxing and cozy RPG in an interesting setting and with a cast of great characters.

I really enjoyed playing this game. There's a lot of depth to the world that has been built here and the story that emerges as you explore. Playing as a cat is adorable and also creates interesting mechanics and gameplay. It's not a long game, and was definitely worth playing.

As of 2020/01/10 the new DLC deleted all of my save files and overwrote the cloud save. This is an unacceptable bug to let through QA. My only solution is to completely restart. CAPCOM did not communicate this common bug at all, and has been silent on any fix. Do not waste your money at this time.

EDIT: As of 1/21 CAPCOM has announced the source of the bug and has fixed it, though lost save data cannot be recovered. I have changed my review to a positive one due to the content of the game itself. It is a very fun, skill-based game that lets you hunt monsters and make hats out of them with a little cat companion by your side. It's a game that is easy to put lots of time into while enjoying all of it.

It's great for playing with friends and you get to be a jumpy space ninja/animal hoarder.

The Talos Principle is an absolutely fantastic game. It has extremely well done puzzles and gameplay mixed with a well crafted story and a philisophical theme. I can't recommend this game highly enough, it is beautifully done.
