Great story, nice combat and very good world / exploration.
The graphics look extremely good and the game runs pretty well, I only had 1 or 2 minor hiccups.
It took me 54 hours to beat doing all side quests and liberating all areas, but without 100%ing the game.
Overall I would say it is well worth the full price.

Very difficult to play.
Starting the game for the first time is the initial challenge, took about 30-40 tries until the game was finally "registered" with Ubisoft.
Even after that, you're not done.
Each time you try to run the game, there is a ~15% chance that the game will actually start, the rest of the times you will get an error that some Ubisoft service is unavailable.
At least its free...

Update 2: Damn, they managed to make it worse. With the release of the new MW3 and this CoD HQ garbage, if you want to start MW2 you have to go through 4 separate launchers until the game finally starts. Finally enough for me to uninstall, never buying a CoD again.

The game had an insane amount of issues at launch, you couldn't even play in a party of 3+ people without one of you constantly crashing. Even solo, the game is very unstable and crashes a lot. It took the devs days to fix the lobby issue and the overall stability of the game has not improved since launch. They made 800 million $ in a couple of days, but I guess they already abandoned this game in favour of Warzone 2.

In addition to the bugs, there isn't really a lot of content. The guns have weird names, there are only a handful of maps and basic things like hardcore mode and player stats (K/D, etc...) are missing.

This game is not worth more than 40€.

Update: After more than a month, the stability issues have still not been addressed. However they are consistently pumping out skins and overpriced cosmetics.

Point Shooting does not work, so it's impossible to complete the Prologue

Apparently you need a clean Windows install to play this game, having basic programs like MSI Afterburner or Nvidia Geforce Experience makes the game crash on launch.

TL,DR: Only recommend if on sale ( < 20€).
I didn't play the original Mafia, so I can't say anything on how good of a remake this is.
As a modern standalone game, I would only recommend this game if there is a good sale on it.
The game itself is fairly good. The story is very interesting and told very well, although the ending was quite abrupt. While playing the last mission I had no idea it was going to be the last, I expected at least 2-3 more chapters to wrap everything up. The voice acting, graphics and overall atmosphere are very good.
The driving mechanics are average, and there is quite a lot of driving in this game. The shooting mechanics on the other hand are quite nice.
The reason I recommend this game only on sale is that it is quite short (~9 hours for me) and there is not a huge replayability value in my opinion.
Mafia is also different from what I expected, it is a lot more linear than other current games of its type, there is a small Open World but you don't really get to explore it. You mostly just start a mission (automatically, each chapter is a mission) and drive to various locations where you have to do specific things (depending on the mission). It's not like most games where you get to start the mission whenever you want. But this design is probably due to the original game being quite old.
There were a couple of glitches, e.g. no sounds except for voicelines being played or some texture / model glitches but nothing major.

After completing the main story and the free DLC, I can safely say that this game is worth its money.
The graphics are amazing, the story is good and the characters are interesting. The combat is very nice and never became repetitive, as each machine has a unique set of moves and requires a different approach to take down. Even the background story, which you uncover through ancient voice and text recordings similar to the Fallout games, are extremely well written and make it worth exploring the world. If you intend to play the game I strongly recommend reading and listening to these recordings, as they uncover so much more about the world and the story that is not explicitly revealed to you while playing the main quest.
Between the many open world games that exist nowadays, Horizon Zero Dawn is among the best ones.

Good game.
Graphics look good, but the game is not very well optimized.
Story is good.
Combat is also good, but nothing spectacular.
Overall would recommend if it's on sale.

Cool game to play for 10-15 minutes every now and then while listening to music.
Got it on sale for 79ct so definitely worth it.
