It has been too long since we've seen a good triple A RTS, I had hopes that this would be one.

Unfortunately it is in every way an inferior Starcraft clone. Simplistic resource system, poor map design, no strategic zoom, simplistic unit design, poor map clearity, unable to make build ques, experimental units unkillable by normal units.

I just can't say anything good about this game, our wait for the successor to Supreme Commander continues.

Early Access Review
Waste of Money. Uber has not delivered on what they promised, there is little to show for the funding they got for the game. If you are an RTS fan looking for the next Supreme Commander or Starcraft, you won't find it here.

Do note this is a review of the current state in alpha and not of the finished product as it is impossible to review something that doesn't exist.

Will you lead your nation to greatness? will you forge it's destiny?

Next generation of the ultimate grand strategy game. A lot of quality of life improvments for non-European nations were made from EUIII including a revamped tech system. This is the quintessential title of the genre, infinitely replayable, a lot of fun with a group of friends, and plenty of challenging goals solo. Speaking of goals, there are no set goals, you decide, if it be achievement hunting or whatever you yourself come up with and want to do in a campaign.

The one downside is it is kind of hard to get into price wise with all the DLC that have since been added to this game. It is great that Paradox continues to polish and add to the experience, and understandably their dev team needs to be paid somehow for that work. It is advised you wait fora sale in order to pick up the DLC, they happen often enough to cut down the majority of the cost, the game is also entirely playable without the DLC adding to the experience. Also do note, in multiplayer, only the host actually needs the DLC to play with it.

Truely a must own for History buffs and fans of grand strategy games alike. Pick any nation, any principality, even a vassel or union'd country at any point on the time line, and then History becomes yours, you decide your nations destiny. And yes, Ulm can into space.

One of the best RTS games ever made. There are four factions, different advantages to playing each, 3 tech levels and experimentals. very good economic system thats not hard to understand but challenging to master. While the unit pathing Is not perfect I've seen far worse and it doesn't stop the game from being top tier in the RTS grene.

If you have this game and Don't already, you should get Forged Alliance Forever and go play on the server run by a community of die hard Supcom fans.

It was a very playable and fun RTS with heavy focus on micro ability and map control. The game arguably isn't as complex with it's economy as Supcom 1/Forged Alliance is, but I would argue that in this sense it's more balanced as the research tree rewards thinking ahead and performance in combat. The diversity of units and tech unlocks between the factions is more rich and well balanced.

I have never played another RTS with as enjoyable unit pathing and responsiveness, or faction diversity either. Nothing comes close save this game's predecessor who many still argue is the "better" game and in terms of scale they might be right but I'll argue in my personal experience this game was always better balanced and more enjoyable to play. Easy to learn very difficult to master.

The ultiment Grand Strategy game, lets you pick any nation and do whatever you want there are no objectives except your own. Be it Grand conquest of Russia, German unification, Rebuilding the Romen empire from the brink of Byzantium's destruction or playing as Switzerland it's your choice.
