Touted as 'one of the hardest games ever', this is really just an unforgiving and challenging game put out in the middle of an era where most games are too afraid to punish you for making any mistakes, wanting to make sure you dont get frustrated and trade the game back in. This is very much a game in the oldschool class of design. You die and you get set back, and you're forced to do the level or area all over again. But every time you do, you get a little further, and then your eventual victory is _rewarding_. It feels good. And most games dont give you that.

Graphically, the game manages to be rather striking... Great care has been put into making sure all of the monsters, the enviroments and vistas, and even all of the games armor and weapons look very unique and stand out.

I absolutly recommend this game. One of From Softwares rare total successes, from a rather hit-and-miss company.

Fun little action rpg from ye olden dayes. Its open world, and has a more comprehensive story then alot of action rpgs. The questing and story design feel alot more like a pure RPG instead of a hack and slash.
Recommended for the price, and for the fact that this is the only version that runs on modern computers.

This is probably the most moist videogame Ive ever played.

Smaller then Gothic 3 in terms of overall world size, but is in no way short on pure content. Tons and tons of NPCs, quests, dialogue and things to find in the game. Challenging as hell and well worth getting through. I highly recommend this!

The last of the Gothic series that Piranha Bytes did before leaving JoWood. The game world is very very large, with plenty to find by exploring. If you make sure to get the fan patch to fix much of the games original issues, and ignore the lingering ones (like a bad framerate), you're sure to find at least some enjoyment from this. It does feel like Gothic... just alot bigger in scale.

Fabulous open-ended RPG. Challenging, wonderful graphics and gameplay. Definetly up there on my list of best games played this year.
