Better than the other nondescript world-famous Japanese pocket monster game.

It's not long enough. I want more!

I've played the first game 150+ hours and have finished it multiple times. This game is definitely BETTER. It's in early access so yes, there are things missing and other things that don't feel right but I have faith in Endnight to top their previous masterpiece once this game approaches completion.

This is one of those games where you start playing in the morning and after you've aligned your road perfectly to your fence, it's like 10pm.

This is game truly a MASTERPIECE. I took my time to do as much as possible in game and EVERY LITTLE THING has meaning and connects seamlessly with everything else in the world. I've spent 36 hours playing so far, getting only one ending, and still have only seen about 50% of the game as far as I know.

The music is 10/10, and the way it fits with the subject matter, characters, emotions is absolutely perfect. I am able to deduce the personalities of even the least noticeable side characters with their background music alone. It is a shame that a lot of the banger tracks are hidden and require the player to dig deeper into side quests to hear.

The climax and ending of the game (I got) broke me down in a way that no other piece of media has ever done before. I felt dread, nausea, pain, grief, anger, sorrow, as well as relief, forgiveness, inspiration and joy. I can certainly tell that the devs of this game understood the mental illnesses portrayed. They depict them in such a raw, gritty way that simply HIT ME RIGHT IN THE HEART.

This game has restored my compassion towards humanity. Knowing that human beings are able to create a piece of work at this emotional level is astoundingly beautiful as well as tragic. I hope to see this game gain more traction as well as the praise it deserves.

I certainly CANNOT recommend this game to everyone. It has such heavy subject matter and I think a lot of sensitive or younger individuals should not be exposed to it at their current emotional state. It may also be hard to relate to and understand from the perspective of someone who has not dealt with the subject matter depicted in the game.

Update: Completed Omori Route. There is A LOT of content with this route and excellent story continuation despite not going through *that* part. I found the boss battles much more dynamic and challenging! I still hold my conviction that this game is a 10/10. The only issue I personalty have with this route is that the achievements take a lot of grinding, but you don't have to do them.
