Get it because it's more GalCiv IV, but also because one of the guys from Explorminate does voices for the Korath scenario and that's pretty great

This is my first time seriously returning to GalCiv since GalCiv 2 and it's 2 expansions. I spent some time in GC3 but it just didn't have the same feel for me or the same 'let me play 1 more turn' that becomes a 5 hour disappearance into defeating the Drengin. Getting involved in EA with Supernova, I finally had that feeling back, and I can't wait to dig in more now that its officially released so it's feature complete.

We've got choices that matter, we've got a way to play wide and tall, we've got ship designer, we've got a huge, ridiculous tech tree to dig into, we've got a MUCH better colony system. I love it and it's going to be my weekend game for the forseeable future.

Great example of correctly handling an expansion - the new races are interesting without eclipsing those in the base game, veterancy ranks for ships are a great addition, and I'm appreciative of the Attitudes system as a way to flesh out your respective empire and gain bonuses for your individual playstyle. I hope that this prompts the base game to get some of the attention that it so richly deserves, because this is a frequently overlooked gem in the 4x space.

Should you buy this content pack, along with the expansion? Why of course...that's just common sense.
