And then I'm here telling you I like the game. Short and sweet, dark and absurd, it's perfect.

For the first time in a long time I had snapped in a fit of rage over the sheer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ presented to me on the finest rusty platter in all of Kenshi.

Here I am struggling to make my own. Do I genuinely expect to survive? No, not at all, and I was totally okay as I watched my humans die one by one to the starving bandits, this was to be expected and truly I had zero feelings towards their loss.

But as the ♥♥♥♥♥ those bandits are, they have a mighty need to kill every bonedog I obtain and eat it for parts. I had already lost the first, missed an opportunity to snag a second as I had to buy food and couldn't afford the second.

Just my luck that as I'm building my first town outside the hub, I get completely swamped by bandits and I had not seen my helpful mercenaries in town for some time. I knew I shouldn't have left without them, but the temptation to fulfill my grand ambitions had set in, and foolishly I had bought a bonedog a moment before.

The bandits unsurprisingly attacked my farm which I went to defend, leading to a legendary battle with heavy losses. I got the notification that against those dudes were trying to eat my dog, and with all the fight my men had left in them I kept trying to aid the dog and take it back to town, at least just the dog is all I wanted to survive. But no, they kept fighting until my men couldn't stand, keen on eating it. It had to be the dog, all they wanted was the dog.

I feel a hatred in my heart for all of starving bandit kind. I have been treated better by dust bandits, escaped servants, even the holy empire that put a 20k bounty on my head have had less of a drive to kill, and yet there starving husks come and take away my most prized companion. Rest well Bonechewer, you fought as hard as you could even when the battle was dire. If I had known better, I would have never brought you back out into the wastes.

From this day on, I will not rest until every single starving bandit leader I come across be immortalized within my prison cages to serve as reminders of what was lost this fateful day. My men may not be special, but that loyal dog was. FOR KENSHI! Lok'tar ogar!

Feels like something you'd find on Newgrounds years ago.

Simple graphics, simple rules, mindless fun and goes great on the Steam Deck. Cheaper than yer mum on a Saturday night. Get the bundle with Halls of Torment for more mindless fun.

If you want a cheap and easy way to drastically improve your colonists moods in their bedroom, just add a marble dresser and bedside table. They'll consider it heavenly and you can keep the rooms on the smaller side.

Don't forget to play the game with random colonists sometime! It severely helps out with making the game faster to jump into and presents unique challenges!

Remember, if the durability is below 51% you can safely toss it to expire outside or sell it! Colonists don't like using equipment below that percentage, forbid them from wearing it!

What you craft with what material DOES matter! Think carefully what fur you use for cold weather, or what materials you use for walls and furniture! They matter a lot and can boost or ruin moods!!

If your colonists hate each other, use their scheduling to specifically keep their recreational time on opposite ends! Work is distracting and nobody wants to have to deal with someone they hate on break!

After dealing with multiple cannibal raids and the rare mutant one offs, we had finally established the first remnants of what you could call a home. Kevin cleared down a huge forest, I had built a cabin but didn't stop there, no I need more.

I built a mighty stone wall to protect the giant cache of wood my mute friend gathered, we had store for all our materials and I was preparing to build us a real house, we had food and water, all the bones we could ask for. Things were looking so great, this horrible island of man eaters felt like a new world.

It was then a red skinned giant approached and turned my mighty stone into rubble effortlessly. Even after he destroyed my cabin he proceeded to rub it in and destroy my wood storage, my food racks, our campfires, even my simple bridge I designed for Kalvin's drain bamaged pathfinding was all the same to the brute.

For many nights I lived in fear of the mutant, but that night I learned instead the meaning of war. No longer afraid to get bloody, we had torn that mutant to pieces and burned each piece over a raging fire. More mutants came and though they succeeded in tearing down our fortifications again and again, they were the only ones truly losing.

In the midst of a mutant rampage I bore witness to our new home SURVIVING their assault for we had smitten them in our pure spite! We will not befriend or make peace, we shall not appease and beg for their mercy, BLOOD FOR THE FOREST GOD! SKULLS FOR THE CANNIBAL THRONE!

It's an awesome game but for some reason it induces migraines into my skull like nothing else.

It's seriously beautiful and I love walking around enjoying the views above all else, the exploration feels so rewarding, and the world is crafted full of passion. The game is simple and addicting, but I felt extremely discouraged to continue playing after losing my only significant save.

The updates are cool and really making this game feel more and more enticing to spend more hours in, but I guess it wasn't made to be. Usually graphics are the culprit, so I hope somehow the devs find ways to add more options to tweak them so that the rare player like myself can enjoy pouring their time back into the game. The devs are awesome and I'm glad to see their work thriving!

I also wonder how many of our favorite big beans have been slain by particularly curious players... we need stats!

If seeing a necromancer on the side of the world vs. the End Times makes you piss your pants, you should go read some more of the lore onward through the end times and get over it.

Being a pyromaniac with a pension for necromancy is a dream come true, I LOVE fighting with my skeleton army!

Twists up Sienna and makes her badass in every aspect, we'll be seeing a lot of her in game. Just became an instant favorite character!
