I just can't recommend this. The direction for this game was executed worse than I remember. I first played this game on release and had rose colored lenses because I loved the first game. And even then I disliked the story. But I tried again and for the life of me I could not find a way to salvage what I had to experience.

I came back to replay this game 3 years later, in hopes of finding a redeemable version of itself. But with more plot holes than I can count and characters that I'd PAY to be rewritten I sincerely could not complete this game a second time. Even the first time had me pushing it. It hurts to see a setting with so much potential be butchered so terribly. I will say the atmosphere and parkour carried the mess of a story at least. Though, running around on roof tops continued to keep things fun until eventually it just couldn't.

Stuck around Subnautica since the days when it was only a concept art. I don't know if it helped me overcome my fear of the deep ocean or only made it worse, but I will never regret discovering this game. I still come back around to playing it even now because there will simply never be another first experience like this one.
