TL;DR: Come for Hearts of Iron IV, stay for the mods other creators make.

Hearts of Iron IV starts off as a small, fun little game that you can sit down and play, but it quickly becomes old and boring, with lackluster mechanics that aren't extremely intuitive, features that are interesting but stuck behind DLC and Expansion purchases, gameplay that isn't exactly forthcoming, and seems to get bogged down with each subsequent update, as well as an AI that basically makes it unbearable to play unless you're playing with other people, or are playing a mod that can help a little.

However, where this game really, really shines, is the modding community, and the mods they make. Kaiserreich is one of the greatest mods I've ever played in a game, and is basically the only reason I even touch the game. A Hearts of Iron IV update to me is just an interest in what that'll change in Kaiserreich, because the devs, instead of just fleshing out the actual focus trees to historical accuracy, they make alternative routes. While this is fine, it should be left to the modders, and they should simply only be working on the gameplay and features. Leave the custom alternative timelines to the modders, who have less leeway over the actual gameplay, which is basically the only thing they can't change on a huge level like Paradox can.

If I'm rating just the base game of Hearts of Iron IV, I'd give it a 5/10. If I'm allowed to include mods, its an easy 8/10.

If you buy any DLC first, or say, get it free on a Humble Bundle, you are also given Company of Heroes 2. But not really, because you can't actually play the 2 armies added in the Base game. Until this problem is fixed, I am literally incapable of actually playing all the armies and buying the base game. Until this problem is fixed, this game is an absolute no.

Just buy Company of Heroes 1 and get Blitzkrieg, or Eastern Front. Much better, and hey. It actually works. No skins or P2W, either.

Early Access Review
The Long Dark is an extremely well put together game, that luckily has a developer team that updates it almost monthly.

The game as of right now is a sandbox survival game where, depending on your difficulty, you are put in a situation that you must quickly find your way out of, or you'll die. From there on out, you are met with the challenge of staying alive, and what a challenge that is. Usually, getting your thirst under control is easy, as long as you have a fire, you have a stable source of water. Then you have to find food. This is where the game can get difficult to deal with, as food can be tricky. Hunting is the greatest form of getting food, however, to do this, you either need a bow, or a gun. A bow can be gotten with a little work, however, a rifle, is a different story. You are left to the RNG Gods when it comes to important loot, and while the map doesn't change, the contents of it does.

The cold is a constant fight, and there are only a few times of day when the sun is out and beaming down enough to raise the temperature above 25 degrees, and usually, these times of day are the riskiest, with the most obvious being a few hours before night. This time is risky, because in this game, when things get dark, they get dark. Even with a lantern, or a torch, the night is thick, and the darkness is hard to see through, and most of the time, even with those sources of light, you can't see more than 10 feet in front of you, making stumbling over a wolf a genuine risk that could occur. Blizzards are much of the same, you cannot see 5 feet in front of you, the temperature falls to record lows, and the wind chill gets painful. Hypothermia is a real risk, and it's sometimes best to just stay inside.

The art style is wonderful, and charming. Along with this, it is also incredibly comfortable looking, with a wonderful looking lighting system that works alongside the art style beautifully. The insides of houses are comfortable and welcoming, and the outside is a cold, bitter wasteland, that is just as ready to welcome a poor soul as it is to pull that same soul in to chew it up, and spit it out.

The sounds in the game are minimal, but they work. The ambient sounds are usually few and far between, but they do the world a treat, adding both suspense and interest to it. The music is, as such, also incredible effective. Usually, it only comes when things are either at their best, or their worst. If you find a new place, you get to hear a small bit of music that is there to reward you for finding it. The other times it comes, is when your condition is low, and you're nearing death. The music becomes desperate, and urges you to fix the mistakes you've made before it's too late.

Hunting in the game is a treat, in which you actually have to track animals. If you don't kill it, it'll run away. This isn't the end of the world, however. Luckily, not only do they leave a blood trail, but all enemies have a bleed-out amount, meaning that eventually, they will die. And you can follow that same blood trail to find the body, if you can manage to stay warm enough. Along with this, the medical system is well done, it's nothing to write home about, but it works, and it's interesting. There are checks and balances. Everything can be healed over time, but sometimes, they can't be healed well without the correct medical supplies.

Sadly, with this being said, the fishing in this game is useless, except for a 1 or 2 time situation when you're near a place to fish and desperately need food. It is risky, it's incredibly hard to actually catch fish, when you DO catch fish, it usually ends up being too small to actually sustain you, and the places to fish are few and far between. It's better to just scrap the hook and line and use it for other things to fix other pieces of equipment. The metal is better used other ways.

As well as this, I wish the game had a map system, I'm not even asking for one that holds your hand, but maybe the ability to find maps that detail places that would actually have maps would be nice, and they'd allow your character to draw a map over time, ala Miasmata, after searching around and reconning it long enough.

There are so many reasons to get this game, and with story mode coming (next month?), there's even more. Where other Early Access games are only making minimal progress, this one is leaping ahead, with large improvements every single time. I could sing this games praises forever, and I couldn't recommend it more. If you're a fan of survival games, adventure games, or are interested in what the game looks like, get it. It's well supported by an active developement and as of yet I have found no bugs that have impacted my gameplay negatively.

They added microtransactions after promising they wouldn't. As well as this, OVERKILL has gotten shadier and shadier. Do not buy.

Battlestations Pacific is an amazingly fun game for it's age, ripe with awesome ship battles, air to air combat, and a fun campaign that is challenging and will keep you on your toes.
I can't comment on multiplayer, but the singleplayer portion is both fun and exciting, and will keep you coming back to see what you can take before cracking. Whether you're fighting in air to air combat, air to sea, sea to sea, sea to air, or commanding your fleet. This game will almost always keep you coming back for more.
However, on the multiplayer note, it uses Microsoft Live, which is in it's own a huge mess. But if it's anything like single-player but with other people, I'm sure it would be amazing too.
I highly recommend it if you enjoy WW2 games, strategy games, or dogfighting games.
There's also submarines.
That's fun, too.
