Excellent VS-like game, fantastic art, interesting progression, new content coming down the pike for free, it's worth the price of admission right now, but stay tuned, may be even better

It's Left 4 Dead 3. Did you like Left 4 Dead? Would you like to play a 2021 version? Buy this game. Fair warning, it's on XBox Game Pass, so if you don't wanna buy it directly you can play it (On pc) there. Still happy I coughed up the money though, great game, it DOES have bugs, but they have a good history of addressing those things.

Do you like good games? Buy it.

Do you like the original doom? Buy it.

Do you want Doom 64? Buy it.

Do you like Doom 1/2? Buy it.

Unless you categorically hate shooters, this is a must have.

It's like Touhou for people that have seen a woman naked, like, a consenting one.

Great art style, great aesthetic/theme, good shmup, ship variety with varying complexity/skill levels, difficulties are varied and interesting. If you like any shmups, buy this, promptly.

Unequivocal recommend - if you like beat'em'up type fighting games, this is a solid yes. Streets Of Rage-esque, with tons of replayability, simple to learn but hard to master advanced mechanics, buy this, they deserve your money.

Pretty straightforward - if you like the contra series, either buy now or wait for a sale, faithful recreations, good ports, everything runs clean and smooth (though, god, I'd hope so).

But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ contra was actually harder than I remember it - and I remember it being pretty hard.

Do you like Dark Souls? Do you like 2d brawlers? Especially those gems from the xbox360 era, like the Dishwasher?

If yes, buy this. If no... The ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with you?

TL;DR version - fun, relatively balanced, great port, if you enjoy fighting games or Tekken as a series, buy it.

First of all, they've actually been listening to their fans, and put the effort into making a high-quality port. This shows in almost every aspect of the game, and is greatly appreciated, many studios and development houses could learn a thing or 30 from this game.

Graphically, I wouldn't call it "advanced", but the art style is nice, graphics are more than sufficient for a fighting game, and the simplicity of the format/depth of Unreal Engine allow for some genuinely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ character customization. More on that in a bit.

Sound is great, love the musical score too, especially the title theme, impacts, moves, grunts, all informative and distinct, but not repetitive enough to be grating (exception: Lucky Chloe, jesus, her squeaking, make it stop), very strong audio presentation.

Technically the game is on point, my high end gaming rig runs everything well, but, more importantly, I tested the game on what is effectively a potatoPC, and it was still appreciably smooth, and what I'd term "more than playable".

Network/netcode/whatever you want to call it is also well-done, best I've seen in a mass-market fighting game so far, actually. Only complaint is sometimes matchmaking can take a little longer than I'd like (~2m between fights range, even when there's plenty of people online playing the game), and sometimes the connection performance indicator on your opponent is not accurate (as in it would rate their connection to me very highly, then it would lag like hell upon play), this could be lagswitching, or something on my end, but it happened often enough I'm disinclined to believe that.

But with a good connection, while playing someone with a good connection, it's amazingly smooth and responsive, as in "you can actually low parry on reaction" responsive, while playing against someone from the west coast (I'm in Texas), so the netcode is good if you're on solid lines.

Story mode is typical Tekken fare, if you're buying it exclusively for single player, I hope cosmetic rewards and customization and just a flat out good fighting game are your schtick, the story mode... I mean, it's not "bad", but it's not $50 good, but character costumes and such are actually really deep and flexible, and again, mechanically, it's a great game. And some love/work went into the story mode, and it's fun, but it's quite short and some of the voice acting/storyline is "questionable".

Blah blah, buy it unless you hate fighting games/fun.
