I've lost a few days of my life to this. Very fun slay-the-spire-like, with colorful Touhou characters and cute card art.

Animations are fluid and the control feel right (as long as you don't try to turn around while attacking). The game uses a very metroid like structure with a small set of power ups to allow exploration.

The only cons that really jump out are that the game is very easy and the game is short. I 100% completed it in around 6 hours. I died exactly once, and that was because I didn't pace myself on the final boss.

I had fun playing the game, which is why I'm giving this a thumbs up recommend, however I also paid the full price of $20 for it. If you see this on sale for a song, I'd recommend giving it a spin, especially to see the cast of Record of Lodoss War again.

But still one of my greatest gaming experience in years. I'm running on top notch hardware (GTX 2080) but I'm in love with this game.

It's awesome now, and will be a legend, without a doubt.

I wish there was a rating system besides thumbs up and thumbs down.

The game does a faithful recreation of the original half-life, with the updated source engine. A few minor changes were made, but on the whole the game is faithful.

Why the thumbs down? The game has a few show stopping bugs that will force you to force quit the program. The most common of these is the "Infinite pause" where if you hit the escape button, the game can pause and will not respond to any input to get out of it. The second is the disappearing interactive objects. I was going nuts trying to figure out what to do in some sections, when the reality was items that I was supposed to interactive with were not respond. Loading an older saved fixed these, but for those unfamiliar with the original half-life, this can really throw you for a loop in a game where exploring for where to go next was one of the original draws (much less common in FPS games today).

Finicky controls that mess up if you pause the game while using the keyboard and mouse, rending your game scrolling off into eternity and the mouse non-responsive. Changing resolution "resets" the problem, but it can happen again. Not an acceptable bug after this has been released for this long.
