One of the best RPG's ever made. Even if you don't particularly like Star Wars or Sci-Fi in general, you cannot deny the amount of effort, detail and story telling this game has to offer.

This game is HUGE. It has an expansive series of main quests that span over several planets and explore many aspects of the Star Wars universe. As well as that, it also has many side quests to add to an already massive game.

The story is great. Although the main plot in itself isn't the most original piece of fiction ever written, it is the characters, the dialogue and the personality that make this game so damn good. It has so much personality, everything feels original and the amount of locations and characters truly make this game feel alive.

The customization, in terms of appearance, is not very expansive. You can choose between five or so character templates and choose their gender. You do, however, get a whole of a lot of clothing and weapons throughout the game to make your character feel more unique.

This is YOUR game in a sense. You choose who your character is, if they are good or bad. It makes the story feel less cliche than a lot of the other games in the genre are.

You can explore planets as you please with a party of characters that all add something different to the game. Some are stealth based, some are more aggressive, and some favour certain weapons over others.

The game is not too difficult, providing you level up smartly. Some encounters/segments can be challenging but the game in itself is not very hard. You often have a choice in how you approach quests. You can be stealthy, go in guns blazing or use the force to dispose of your foes.

That's another thing - the force. You can upgrade your character with force powers, good or bad. This allows you to choose whether you are a Jedi or a Sith warrior. Using sith powers doesn't necesarily mean you have to be sith, though. It adds depth to your character.

Overall this game is phenomenal. Easily in the top 10 best RPGs made (so far) and it is definitely in my top 50 games of all time. If you like Stars Wars then this is essential. If you like good games in general then this is also a must buy.

So finally after a year and two attempts at trying to complete this game, I've finally beat it. And for lack of any better words, all I can really say in general is that this game is truly a superb action adventure game with a refreshing soty and stellar gameplay.

Firstly, the graphics-they're some of the best I have ever seen, even now which says a lot considering this game is almost two years old and the release of new gen consoles and PC games should open a agte for beautiful games, which they have, but this still looks gorgeous. I have a beast PC so I could run this on Ultra settings and let me tell you, that first glimpse of Columbia and the scene where New York is being destoryed and the city in general, especially the garden sections are a wonder to gaze at, they're that good. The character models are well animated and look good and the architecture is realistically crafted.

The gameplay is very good, not perfect, though. When I first played on my Xbox 360 a year ago, the aiming controls were fine because it was a controllet, but having to press MMB to aim and the RMB to use Vigors and V to melee and considering the recoil early on is high, it was very awkward to use. But thanks to the PC's marvelous mechanic of remapping controls, I changed them up to how I liked them and it felt very nice to control. Game difficulty is mixed, I played on easy because I had played this game up to the near end twice so I wanted to finish it, and for the most part it was a breeze considering it took only eight hours to beat and I died maybe three or fours times, but sometimes it becomes more frustrating than difficult. An example is near the end when you fight Lady Comstock, you have to essentially do the same boss fight three times, which was fine I just wish it had more variety, but the fight itself was tedious because of the repetetive nature of it. It's the same with the large areas with the Skylines where you have to fight Handymen and guys with Flak cannons, it gets annoying but again, they're not so tough so it can be easily overlooked.

Arguably the best thing about this game is the story, it is blockbuster movie quality. At first. all you need to do is catch a girl to "wipe away the debt" your character Booker DeWitt has. Simple, eh? Well as you progress you find out this Columbia is an independant city which is run on a very strict religious system, where the leader is worshipped as a prophet and the US founding fathers are, too. It has a lot of racist and conservative moments in it. You get sidetrakced often from your objective which is to take Elizabeth to Paris. You end up travelling to alternate universes where you are aprt of the Vox, then against it, and alot of things end up different than anticipated. Near the end, you need to kill Comstock in order to stop Elizabeth's protector (The songbird) from stopping her leaving for Paris with the false shepard (Booker). This is when the famous bit arises. After you kill comstock and prevent New York's destruction, you find out that in these "tears", these alternate universes, all have Booker in them. They all start with a lightouse, and ends with the destruction of a city. You find out you ARE Comstock and therefore Elizabeth or Anna's father. And the only way to prevent the cycle of their being a city and a man is by preventing the transition Booker had into Comstock, which is a baptism Booker has after fighting the battle of the wounded knee. So, Elizabeth's and Anna's from that universe kill Booker, thereofre killing Comstock, stopping Anna or Elizabeth being captured and stopping the city of Columbia being destoryed and stopping the cycle. A creepy element is the fact that there os another game where at the beginning there is a man, a lighthouse and a city that gets destoryed, sound familiar? Yes, Booker is the character from Bioschock in an alternate universe. To be honest, I still don't know fully what the ending means but it stimulates the brain and makes you think, and it is a brilliant twist. I can understand fans dissapointment with the ending, as you could say that technically it was all never happened and was a weird paradox, but I like it. The story it tells regardless of it's background and whether or not it all ends up to being one in a million scenarios, the story it tells is a good action packed one with good characters and amazing environments.

I could write a detailed conclusion, but I feel I have done so already. But I will leave you with some good advice: BUY THIS GAME. You will not regret it, a masterpiece that cost only £7 WITH the first two Bioshock's which I will be playing shortly.

This is one of the best RPGs ever made. Period. The atmosphere is amazing, it feels like a horror game set in a human world, meaning you get genuine horror moments fighing vampires and other monsters, but then you have times you're chatting to humans and having some interesting and some funny conversations. The writing is amazing and the story is gripping, with some amazing characters with grade A voice acting. The side quests are interesting as well, adding hours to your game time. I love the early 2000s Nu metal, industrial metal/goth atmosphere this games gives while also supplying Californian surfer and overall a realistic view on the humans living in LA. It's dark, and the way horror and real life contrasts is amazing. It really reminds me of Blade and An American Werewolf in Paris because of the Gothic church nightclubs playing metal in the background.
As for gameplay, it's very fun. You have hubs that are these urban areas with loads of buildings you can enter to get quests or just expore and meet characters. The combat is the only thing I have an issue with, it's fine but somethimes it's feel so cheap. For example, after a few hits your character has to wait to attack, letting the enemy hit you and when you're attacking the mouse often goes into awkward positions.
The diffuculty is fair, but sometimes when you're doing a quest, it feels as if they were designed for specific vampire species. Like in one mission you need to be stealthy but you haven't got an invisibilty power or when you're fighting the bosses, which are very challenging, you can die a lot which can be frustrating. Also, when you die, it takes you ro the main menu which is boring and annoying to see over and over again.
Overall, it's amazing. It's dark, has amazing atmosphere, diverse locations, genuinely interesting characters, top notch voice acting, a wide range of quests and weapons and will scare you in some missions, I dare not spoil the Ocean house hotel mission, but believe me when I say...oh, god. Anyway, I don't think there is any better game to play at halloween or in general, pick it up. It's worth the generous £14.99 it costs.

I've played roughly 4 or so hours of this game so far, and the majority of what I've played is excellent. The universe it creates is spot on to the movies, the whole 70s-version-of-the-future is definately there, and it looks great; the graphics are fantasic. The gameplay is smooth and responsive, and the game itself is tense as all hell, I'm on the edge of my seat even when I know I'm safe from the Alien as I know it may be anywhere. There is some combat, mainly against androids, but you'll have to use your feet and weapons for distracting to get past the Xenomorph.

The only bad thing I have to say is actually something many other may like, and that's the saving mechanic. I hate it. I have a very good PC but sometimes the game has been unresponsive meaning I have to re-load my game, but so many times it takes me 10 or 15 minutes from where I left off. It's not awful, but when you have a game that is often slow paced and has little action, and you die, and have to do it ALL over again, it get's really annoiyng really quickly.

Other than that, the game is great. It's suspensful, true to the films, beautiful and overall a great experience so far. I've yet to complete it but I'll be sure to update my review to suit the entire game. My early review is postive. If you want any game this Autumn, this is the game to buy.

If you want a realistic war game, you can't get better than Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm. Not only is it tense and immersive, but it's fun as hell. A must buy.
