Early Access Review
If you like fighting games, but have trouble making the fight mans on the screen do the things you tell them (like I do), then this is the card game for you.

In this game, all you need to do is play two cards from your hand. Their numbers and effects will add together and they'll turn into an attack. Easy!

That said, there are a ton of different effects, movement options, boosts, counters, special moves, and on top of all that, each character has their own unique gimmick (like the mechanics they put on some of the weirder characters in Guilty Gear or BlazBlue). Werewolf twins who fight as a pair, an alchemist who gradually powers up his attacks over the course of the battle, a battle scientist who can set up a hologram of herself and swap places with it.

So with all that, a game will come down to looking at the cards your opponent has in their hand, predicting what pair of cards they'll play and how they'll use their effects, and then countering with your own.

I've been a fan of it since the first physical version of the game, and since then, they've added an absurd amount of content to the series, from a single player/co-op mode, to strikers, to bosses, to equipment, to crazy powerful light and shadow versions of the characters. Speaking of characters, the physical version of the game has somewhere over 75 of them by now, so they won't run out of potential content to add to BattleCON: Online here any time soon.

Also, it's free so, like...may as well give it a shot, y'know?
