I'd love to take Khazan out to a nice steak dinner and hit it raw style and do tricks on it.

This game is quite good.

It's tragic people are going eh at this because of the price tag and because you can't steal anything. This tries harder to be a cool solid action rpg in almost every other factor then it's contemporary. I adore it.

This has to be one of the most insane things bamco has ever published.

Starting out, the game has the most ridiculous performance requirements I've ever seen, the game runs awfully, I got a 3070 TI and I need to use lossless scaling to make the game run in a way that isn't completely embarrassing.

I get you can unlock it later but like, why the hell would you slap LOSE-ABLE equipment into your pre order bonus??? Put some cosmetics in there or something, you have any idea how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it feels to loose the cool trinket you got for being an early adopter???

I don't understand why this wouldn't ship with some kind of non-hostile mode so that you can play it unabaited by other people who kinda just wanna ruin your fun. This game has a story, it's marketed partially as a single player game and that's obviously a sham.

The MTX is egregious too??? Are there any worthwhile cosmetics for someone who doesn't feel like shelling out an amount of money to get anything for your build-a-girl(or guy).

I sincerely feel like you should've put a bit more effort into making the single player/casual experience a bit more accessible to the unsuspecting customer. People who gravitate toward anime games (like me) are going to have a dismal experience having to tussel with people who are better kitted, or are suddenly deciding to be hostile. Frankly if you wanted to monetize this, focus on hooking your perspective player with a less grindy, more enjoyable core experience, and then once the main campaign is done, sink em in.

I guarantee you, someone (like me) who loses some of their shiny pre order stuff, or any of the items that come with the 70$ or 100$ editions will probably be looking for a refund out the gate, and then you're just gonna be dead in the water.

Fix the performance, make the game a smidge more accessible to people who've never really touched extraction games before and I sincerely believe you'll be rolling in money from the anime crowd. But right now, it's an unapproachable mess, that's only gonna be appreciated by a handful of crazy people who manage to tough out the early bits.

Hold on to your 40$, wait a little bit, see if the game still has a player base or has improved at all. I'll keep at it cause I am curious to see where this goes, but right now I don't have a particularly high opinion.

Update

Can you guys admit this is a failure. Nobody's playing it anymore and netcode is exceptionally bad. just enable offline mode so freaks like me can enjoy their weird little shooty game

I want to go on record, and have been informed that the game has always used TTS, this time it's all in english though, I've had no issues with the game otherwise.

Due to a series of what I can only describe as "Activision Blunders" the game has more recently been inundated with the use of AI generated images. In addition the cast of Zombies, the mode which I frankly enjoy and like playing above any other, will be recast over time due to the lack of AI protections in their contracts, Nolan North, the iconic voice of Richtophan will also likely be recast because he is a union actor, as well as everyone else.

I understand that the average opinion about AI on Steam is, tragic, to say the least, so this will likely fall on deaf ears, but if this doesn't smack of bull to you I don't know what else will.

Treyarch and Raven are by and large the more creatively interesting studios within Activisions gamer mines and to see them be bogged down by what I can only assume is a corporate insistence to use AI as a cost cutting feature is beyond me. Call of Duty is one of the highest grossing franchises of all time and continues to sell gangbusters every year, the idea that a faceless suit believes that they somehow need to make even more money should be insulting to you. I understand it's "loading screens" in paid bundles and promotional art but if you give them an inch now who knows what their going to be peddling to you a year or more down the line, the voice acting might not even be done by people depending on how bad it gets.

Steam not giving Activision the same treatment and having them smack a big fat AI use disclaimer on their store page is cowardly, plain and simple, this means Activision and Steam both know that AI is a not just a symbol of artistic malpractice, but also a major deterrent to those who would buy video games.

If you already own the game, don't buy the stupid MTX bundles, god knows I can live without big shark man skin bundle. If you were hoping to recapture your love of zombies with this game and happen to be looking at steam reviews, don't bother. Make a measureable statement with your time and money to prove you don't want to deal with this.

Spend your MTX money on something that won't lie to you, I generally recommend Signalis.

For a multiplayer space fairing exploration game where you can do all kinds of ♥♥♥♥ TM. It's shockingly difficult locating the fun. I desperately want to like it but hours of fast traveling and delivering cargo isn't nearly as exciting as you'd think.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, really well at that. Pro tip, if you only want frame generation, borderless windows works fine.

Most recent update deleted my save data, I was at the end of the game, provide me a way to go back to where I was in the game, or give me a refund. I am not playing 5 hours of this all over again.
