I first tried TOME way back when it was free and called Tales of Middle Earth, and it was one of the best roguelikes I had ever played at that time. This new version of TOME is better than ever, with actually quite nice visuals and music to boot! There appear to be more refined elements than ever. It's a blast to play and there is so much to explore!

PixelJunk Monsters is the best tower defense game of all time. I put a very large amount of time into the PS3 version.

This game is incredibly challenging. Controlling a unit on the field which can upgrade and build towers adds to the immersion. The visual style and music are very vivid and peaceful.

There is a very nice degree of balance between all the enemy units and your various towers and their upgrades. Each level has a different path to victory, and comes with fresh visuals.

This is an all-time classic. It's still the best Worms game, too. Team 17 has been struggling for 15 years trying to recreate the perfection they reached in this title. While the modern Worms games are still decent, Worms Armageddon has absolutely perfect pixel art-style (how people would consider the visuals today) graphics, and the interface is minimal and very effective.
