The game really didn't have a good launch,
BUT, here are my personal opinions and experience so far after 12 hours of playing.

So far i have yet to encounter a single crash, but i came after the update that improved the crashes so idk if its from that or not. The game is really good looking even on lower settings, so i don't feel too bad about lowering my settings for more frame rates.

The game's minimum specs DEFINITELY aren't accurate, how the hell can a GTX 1080 run this game, my 2080 Ti struggles a lot, i play on low-medium settings with DLSS ultra performance at 30-50 fps. I have 32 GB of RAM, game installed on gen 3 NVMe SSD, (gen 4 but my motherboard is only gen 3). i9-9900k with the temps being:
CPU Highest: 63
GPU Highest: 76

Overall, the game experience is really great, so many things are so much more fluid than before, and i'm excited for the updates to come, i don't regret my purchase. If you're really complaining about the performance, have you seen Payday 3 ?, i was at a crippling 20 FPS on the lowest settings on that game when it was in beta access, and now its completely fine running at 150 fps, its not gonna be too late to make the game better, these performance issues will not stay forever, and the 20 series RTX GPU's (and AMD equivalent) are quite old, technology advanced past them, just like the 900 series GTX is barely viable nowadays, so too will the 1000 GTX series, and 2000 RTX series become not viable for newer games.

I look forward to seeing all the new content that will come over the years.
I recommend this game if you can bear with the early launch issues, otherwise keep an eye on it and buy it
when you feel like it will satisfy whatever it is that stopped you from buying the early launch. Or you can always stick
with ARK: Survival Evolved if you don't care about the new content.

Edit: anyone remember when ARK: Survival Evolved and it was a 50/50 chance you either ran the game or not, even with the best GPU available back then ?

Absolutely brilliant game!

pros:
Performs well on practically everything
Nice upgrade scaling
Things can be automated
Simple but great art style
Tons of upgrades
Not too repetitive

Cons:
It starts getting impossible to keep 100+ fps after a while.
(Yes i have a 240 Hz monitor)
I can't think of anything else that's bad about it

9/10 super addictive!

Their game had an error where it asked you to choose a name as if you started a new account, even if you logged into your main account, making it so that your account has 2 names to it, in a way, your account still has your old name, your guilds, etc, but you were reset and it was very bugged out, sometimes i'd have access to my guild, sometimes not, because it didn't know which name to choose from my "2 names" after talking to the company, they "restored" my progress, and by that i mean, they restored about 40% of the progress, i still lost some things, BUT THEY REFUSE TO CHANGE MY NAME BACK TO WHAT IT WAS, here is what they said:

Greetings,
Our Game team was unable to restore the old name which was on the account due to technical difficulties.
The account was restored however the progress/information you are seeing in-game may not be the latest/highest one as the restoration was dependent on the back-up the Game team was able to find.
We are very sorry for this, however Customer Support is unable to assist further with this request.

What is so hard about deleting the new name data, and restoring the old one, i can't choose my name elsewhere it just says its already taken, and yes, there is a name changer, but really, I'M SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE THAT THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX ?

IF you are new to the game ok maybe give it a shot, it can be fun, but the support is not great.
