Took me a while to simmer to enjoy this title. The easy to mod approach, physics systems, interactions and looking in small cracks reveals more features implemented on top. They really thought of almost everything when it comes to interacting with a virtual environment. However it still feels like a tech-demo, the campaign is just an on-boarding to openly ask you to mod the game. You can do a lot in Bonelab, a lot. With it's main focus on creating a game using a physics engine only, it's a technical feat that this is even a VR game to begin with let alone a pancake game. Most interactions and events are physics driven and based on statemachine AI with thresholds using physics data. It's genuinely an impressive game/tech-demo.

Game used to be fun just and for context I have been playing for one year on Mobile, but within the few months the Candle farming is relentless if you want to get items from the events. I don't have the 3-4 hours every day, doing the same boring runs day in day out, if you don't know anything about this game you might think that it can't be that bad right? Just as an example, these new events and seasons (Alice in Wonderland, Days of Music and Moomin), to be able to afford everything you will have to Candle Run 20 candles every day for 28 days since it will require you over 550 candles, there isn't enough time in the event to get the candles needed to unlock them, and that is if you didn't just waste 150 candles on the travelling spirit that just left. And by every season the costs of items and the greed of TGC is getting worse. They advertise this game about making friends and enjoying the journey but, you will not have time to make friends since you are busy making candles. Your friends list will be mainly for siphoning hearts or heart trading.

The seasons are mostly tame up front as it only takes roughly 15-30 minutes to complete your daily season candles, but you need to log in every day to unlock everything which is acceptable, not great but its okay. But for normal candles, expect either idling at the Season of Belonging table for hours, the Geysers for hours or asking someone to candle run for you and the grind might not seem that bad; when you have to do the same boring run/trail every day just to afford the things you want before they are gone forever, and to even progress in this game, or to unlock cool things for your friends, is not okay and it is not fair for those who do the candle burning and the running for the community. This is supposed to be a chill, cozy game, not a part-time job. And it's punishing on every aspect for solo players especially with the recent purposefully targeted bug fixes.

Why am I complaining about candles a lot? Well that is it after you beat the game, there is no more content for you apart from candle running or the occasional events (which the events/seasons are empty and uneventful and only are primarily for cosmetics), because if you even want to chill in this game it will manipulate you into doing candle runs some way shape or form, candle running for cosmetics is Sky's endgame which you will reach in 3-6 hours of play.

At least make candle running enjoyable TGC, you purposefully fixed the quality of life bugs to help us candle run like the camera wax trick recently and the ability to open co-op doors solo, which is going to make me give up on this game entirely. TGC chose not to fix specific bugs or fix issues unless it hurts their economy or income. Other players have issues every time this game updates like frequent crashes, events bugging out and not receiving items, server disconnects, IAP failing to give you items when you pay real-world money, regional pricing is non-existent in other countries (a single cosmetic or season pass can be the equivalent of 500-1000USD in some countries). TGC knows this is an issue, they have known these problems for years now, they just don't choose to fix any of these issues because it doesn't directly hurt their in-game economy of candles and hearts or profits. A large portion of people play on the Beta version of the game, well, if the game releases seasons to Beta first then to Stable release, you'd think these issues before launch will be ironed out? No of course not, it is TGC after all, complacent developers and ramming up both IAP prices and also inflating the candle economy so much that you can't afford most items in the game now.

If anyone at TGC reads this, community manager, business or product relations, someone. People including me are close to quitting this game for good or already have and it's your fault, 90% of my friends list in-game became infrequently active within these few months, I'm not sure if you are gauging how hard you can screw players and make them waste their time with this game, at least make candle running easier or more enjoyable for regular players. Don't play.

Its NeosVR 2.0, takes a while to get used to and is very different to what I am used to! Very cool app. Requires a beefy PC to have a good time.

The essential SteamVR app.
But it has issues that need fixed.
If you have more than 7-8+ watchman devices (2 controllers + 8 trackers) in use, the hotbar for battery visibility gets cut off so you just kinda have to guess what the rest's battery percent are at.
Panel Min/Max fps should be able to be enterable via keyboard as moving the slider with shaky hands to the value you want is frustrating.
I wish there were more options regarding performance metrics like selecting a GPU to monitor, display all cpu threads. GPU monitoring seems inaccurate as well as the frame-time counter if you are running full-speed, unless it's showing overhead but that should be a separate metric, not tied to the same counter.

if you want to know how your battleship pcvr pc is doing with a ton of details, this is it. this is not helpful for anything else but that, showing your pc stats, which is fine. but there are better options out there for general use instead of a pro use product like this so keep that in mind.

really cool software when you learn its quirks, movement is a ton more immersive with this app in general. do adjust the "walk" triggers on your controllers if you are having difficulty with not stopping.
