If you haven't seen anything about this game, it's best experienced blind.

But if I were to sum it up; Take a game like Putt-Putt or Pajama Sam, and make it for adults with a dark sense of humor. The subject matter is a heavy on the way British dialect sounds and phallic shaped objects.

For me the absurdity and shock value made it enjoyable for the duration. People looking for something extremely weird and absurd to play with a group of people this one is a deep well of laughs and double takes.

This is defiitely an improvement over the free version visually, but I'm on the fence over recommending this without trying the free version first. At the time I've played it (Halloween 2017) there are a few bugs/errors/changes from the original that I don't prefer.

Potential spoilers for those who didn't play the free version:

-I like the random music that plays when you're walking through the rooms, it gives a nice mood. However I think these shouldn't be able to play in specimen rooms since the original dead silence is much more unnerving. This music also sometimes cancels out specimen chase music or even just has no music playing at all when being chased which ruins the tension. I don't know if this is fixable at all and if there is any intention of fixing this or if it isn't actually a bug but a feature.

-*scare spoiler* There's a room in the original that loops several times with a note that you have to read 3 times before the exit door unlocks. The view fog is very short so you can't see far in front of you and there's a roughly 1/3 chance that a figure will quickly fly at you with a piercing scream just as a way to scare you. In my experience I had encountered the room before without the jumpscare and the 3rd or 4th time when I actually did get it I can say with certainty that it was the biggest reaction I ever had to a jumpscare. But in the HD version the fog is extremely reduced so when the jumpscare does happen, you see it coming from too far away and the impact isn't as strong. Also a friend that I watch stream and myself both got the jumpscare EVERY time we went through that room, about 5 times for each of us. I hope that was just bad luck but if it is a garauntee in this version then I really think it should be changed back to how it is in the free version.

-Old specimen 10 seems to just be a head with no body in this version, even though his appearence is brief he doesn't even move towards you at all before new specimen 10 burst out, which dissapointed me a little.

Improvments over the original:

-The doors are 3D and can be knocked off the hinges by specimen with a bit of physics.

-Using devices in the game now has you interracting with the in-game model instead of making a 2D interface take up the whole screen.

-3D models for some of the specimen, specimen 12 looks especially better in this version.

-Ambient music that plays occaisionally (Though I still think it ruins the mood of specimen rooms)

-Several other little bits are improved and in 3D, for example, specimen 3's holes in the ceiling are actual burrows instead of just flat textures, with specimen 3 being animated crawling out of them.

-Steam achievements! Also trading cards.

Overall if you already played the original game and are a fan, view this as a way to donate to the devs with some nice bonus improvements and extra content included. I'd say it's a pinch unpolished to confidently recommend as the superior version, though.

Team work is essential in this game. This will teach you to take up roles and communicate effectively in a team survival cooperation. You have to kill all the specimen that spawn in a wave to advance. You earn money for every kill you get. Once they're all dead you get a minute to spend your money on better weapons or ammo. If you die you only respawn at the end of the wave. The more players you have in a game, the more enemies spawn per wave and the tougher they are. The gore is extremely advanced. Limbs can be severed at multiple points, heads can be chipped away, intestines can spill. If you have a powerful computer you can have dynamic blood fluid render in real time for realistic spraying and pooling blood effects. But most importantly be prepared to die. This game is brutal on the higher difficulties and unforgiving for inexperienced players. You'll go from feeling like you have everything under control to dying in a few seconds. But most of the time you'll have a pretty good idea of how you could have prevented your death.

I'm just writing this for the Steam Awards achievement, don't mind me. This game is really hard 'n such fast paced level by level obstacle courses with frequent dying and death is a slap on the wrist instant respawn keep trying until you get through blahblahblah if you're into that buy it.

An interesting and unique experience that is very short and sweet. The simple graphics honestly lower your expectations for the mind blowing experience at the end. Explaining anything would spoil the ten minute experience so just get the game.

This takes the humor of Earthbound, the story branching of The Stanley Parable, the artstyle of A Cave Story, combined into one unique, memorable game that truly feels alive.

A game that starts calm and works it's way up to genuine terror. It's not a gradual rise, but more in spikes, each spike scarier than the last. It always returns to the same calm between spikes of spookiness, until you get far enough... There's randomly generated rooms that you must advance through, most of the time duplicates of previous rooms will turn up time after time. Every now and then a rare, interesting room appears, usually having some fun gimic or a reference to another popular horror game. Fans of SCP Containment Breach would likely enjoy this.

Is this game worth your money? It's free. Give it a play and you'll see.

It's fantastic, there's new content that mixes up the multiplayer. You can now divide up jobs amounst the players, gathering firewood, finding food, building the base, gathering manure, looking for biomes, you still never run out of things to do. More arms to fight, but more mouths to feed. Death results in a spooky ghost who can stick around until the other players sacrifice a bit of their health to craft a revival item.

It looks bad at first, I know, it seems simple. But once you truly play it, it's gets very addictive, it's like Minecraft with tougher, more complex building mechanics. You can't just plop wood down and make a house, you need alot of time and wood weighs a lot to carry around, zombies can break down your structures, too. Search abandon towns for loot such as weapons, bullets, clothes, medical supplies, meat. Many different guns, different bullets for each gun, rare gear, rare forms of lighting, vehicles and tools. Are you a swordsman? A gunsman? A stealthy killer? A swift escaper? A loot gatherer? Defensive fort? Explorer? You can be whatever you want.
