Fantastic gameplay, great co-op experience, still playable and fun solo. There are some small bugs that could be ironed out, and some balance issues in regards to weapon balance (breaker is the best, railgun is the best) but since it's a PvE game with adjustable difficulty, you don't need to play the meta for fun. Arrowhead's CEO has stated that he's unhappy with this weapon balance, and that there will be fixes and expansions to the weapons currently in game. There are a few other design problems, namely automaton defend missions; more mission variety and some tweaking here and there would be massively beneficial.

Even with a few small gripes and some room for improvement here and there, HD2 is amazingly fun. They've done great so far with the release (now that queue issues are fixed), and now just need to capitalize on their success with ongoing content. Mechs and a new faction are planned, and more content will make the game shine.

Overall great, and the developer's messaging + timely fixes are pretty confidence-inspiring. Unless they fumble massively somehow, I see this game having a healthy lifespan with fun content for years to come.
