Everything's been said about this game's mechanical and artistic brilliance. What really needs mentioning here is the checkmate Valve pulled off in the mine-filled 4D-chess game that is the 13 years of expectations. How would you deliver, I mean really deliver, a new instalment to the goliath of a game series that has single-handedly pushed forward the gaming industry since '98? Okay, but now the story gets leaked by the original writer as "Epistle 3", now what? The task was hard enough, but now, how do you leave everyone satisfied? Follow the script or not, you'll probably watch as the fans riot in disappointment either way. There was no way that they could've pick up where Episode 2 left off.

Thus, enter Half-Life: Alyx. Or in other words: "If you don't like what is being said, then change the conversation."

We, as Alyx says, want "the combine off earth." We want Episode 3, for Freeman to deal the finishing blow. But Valve, as G-Man, says that is too large of an ask and offers us something something we don't know we want. To bring us up to our toes once again in a never-ending excitement as they symbolically turn the lambda upside down and change the canon. We're once again waiting for the mythical "3" but now on Valve's terms.

This wait of 13 years was worth it and I am ready to wait another 13 for the next Half-Life on Brain Computer Interfacing.

Bravo!

This Security Update is the start of the metaversification of VRChat. Over time, under the guise of "making it safe for everyone", VRChat will become an empty shell of what it used to be. Just like it happened to so many of our favourite things, it will be dumbed down and sterilized into a safe space that we will laugh at as we laugh at the facebook and metaverse right now. So will VRChat become a "safe space" with freedom stripped from the users, forced to use the investor-forced "safe" worlds and stock avatars.
VR as a whole is in it's youth so my hope is that another free space for enthusiasts that is not controlled by investors that have no regard for the community or anything else but monetary gain will pop up to replace VRChat.
