Pretty good, but lacks polish. Things like the level audio restarting completely when the level resets, et cetera. Maybe add an audio metronome more than just a visual indicator, because the song itself, while cool, isn't clear? Then again, I guess part of the difficulty is you yourself counting the beats in your head lol

This game forgot that it's a work of art. The nuance and impact of some parts of the original is forgotten. Having that said, that doesn't make it a bad game, nor does it warrant a "not recommended" review - a good game in a less artistic version is still a good game, after all.

I do not recommend it because of:
1. Atlus' business practices and overpricing for minimal DLC
2. The existence of Denuvo

If you hold your values close to your wallet, do not buy this game. Play the FES version instead.

Everyone is afraid of serious commitment. We're talking "rest of your life" kind of commitment, so it would make sense we would want to either keep things like they are, or make completely sure we're doing the right choices.

Marriage, children, giving up your own freedom to fully dedicate it to others. Catherine is a good representation of those fears, and a good starting point for conversations around the topic. If you're in good terms with your parents, or if a friend of yours has kids, you should definetly try using this game as an excuse to talk about those topics.

The symbolism is on par with what I've come to expect from Atlus, the creators of Shin Megami Tensei and Persona. The characters are endearing, the story is captivating, and the artstyle is perfect for the story it's trying to tell. Unnerving bosses, fantastic puzzles, lots of mechanics to play around with.

I am still halfway through, but I know a masterpiece when I see one.

Upon release, during the hype train I wrote: "Very broken, but still very fun; the future of Five Nights at Freddy's was never so bright!
It's not as scary as the trailers would have you believe (duh), but all the parts that should be scary are more than you'd expect."
