closest well ever get to portal 3

TLDR: If you games with interesting but odd worlds like Cargo! The Quest for Gravity, Beyond Good And Evil or even Elden Ring, you will like this. But it has some jank and a difficulty spike at the end.

Pretty janky but good old-school adventure game. A lot of different and diverse environments and mechanics. Loads of mob designs, and very interesting world with loads to discover. There are some genuinely scary parts (looking at you ticks in sourwod).
I will recommend this game because it gives me the same wonder of exploring a world that Elden Ring did or Death Stranding. But I think whoever buys this will not end up finishing it because of a few reasons:

1. The water - Anytime you so much as dip a toe in the water its an instant game over. The spotty environmental collision makes it so more often than not you will fall in water for no fault of your own. After reloading your save for the 100th time, it gets annoying. And there is a lot of instant-death water, everywhere.

2. The difficulty jump - After you reach Haunted Glacier, you might as well uninstall the game since it shifts tone so drastically. It goes from a pleasant yet challenging adventure to unfairly hard. There are more and more enemies and less ammo in more difficult terrain (i.e. more water). The game really does not equip you to deal with all these enemies, so
you ended up having to running past them. Its really odd since this difficulty spike follows after a very nice and relaxing flying level.

3. The padding - Not only does the game get harder, it gets padded out. The water section in Drowned Veins is just not fun. Its getting lost in underwater caves with low visibility. Just not fun, feels like a chore. Even worse, there are scions with water enemies, but not enough ammo to kill them all so you just have to tank them while being lost in very low visibility.

4. The final boss - The final boss is plainly too hard (although design is very cool). You fight a flying ?thing?snake?spider? on a very tiny platform with no way to doge and not enough ammo or health. This boss fight follows after a lot of combat that is just not fun.

Incredible game, spend hundreds of hours on it, totaly worth it, but dont buy the standard version, buy the handsome edition to get access to all the content

Like every Ice-Pick Lodge its a very strange game, however it has a lot of charm.
I recommend this if you want to experience what goes on in the minds of the people who made The Void, without having to play The Void cause its boring as ♥♥♥♥.

Finished this game 100% a long time ago. Very enjoyable adventure-platformer with a unique time. A cult classic that shouldn't be missed.

Great metrovania. Unlike other games in the genra, it does this magical thing where there is no one point where you feel lost or confused.

The bois are good, the first part of the game is great. The second part of the game needed another 10 years.
