Review summary: This game is like an apple product all shiny, sleek, and sexy. But designed for dumbest widest user audience possible. It streamlines out all the player autonomy, in the name of capturing newer attention span challenged audiences. The era system makes this game 3 mini strategy games in a trench-coat impersonating a civilization game. I deeply regret supporting this with a founder edition purchase.

Pros:
-Graphics and Art are impressive
-New city expansion system- pretty good
- General combat system- in terms of bunching up units and deploying make combat fun
Cons:
-Era system turns this into chasing a series of lists, progress barely carry overs between eras, game hard resets making this three mini games in a trench-coat.
- Shiny art style means you understand ♥♥♥♥ all about whats happening on the map.
- No Customization.
- Traders? Like what the ♥♥♥♥, how is it this bad?
- Map generation is weak
- Shallow player autonomy

I would skip this generation. I am going to back to playing CIV 6 or CIV 5. Maybe they will remaster those it would have been a better decision than wasting development money on this thing.
