A passion Project that any Fan can agree is better than the original.
They took what made the first great and expanded upon it in many ways while keeping its soul.
They improved the later stage which the original devs simply didn't have the time, money nor tech to do so.
The only thing I wished is that they could've got the Original Gman voice actor But the current voice actor still did a fantastic job and kept the tone and feel of the hl1's G-man

I would honestly consider this game more cannon than the first with all its little details and expanded stroy-telling.

A game so nice I bought it twice.

I'm a massive fan of the metro franchise and owned it not only on xbox360 but also on pc for both the normal and redux versions (when they came on sale)
My hours are shorter on steam as I bought it at sale where it was cheaper to just re-buy the game on steam along with the dlc than just buying the dlc on epic.

Now about Exodus
The Metro franchise has always nailed a core aspect of its game. Immersion. The graphics are great and the sound design is awesome, especially on this one. The writing for this one in particular is much better with en epic story that spans a continent as well as 4 seasons. On top of that all of the side characters are well fleshed out and have an incredible amount of dialogue and story to tell if the player wishes I quickly find myself stuck in the game just listening and interacting with the crew of the Aurora.

The combat
The combat is an improvement to the first two games but the controls are a little floaty for movement and the AI seems to have laser focus on you once they find you and are basically blind if you are in the slightest of shade, However it holds up well enough not to take away from the experience. The guns themselves has many upgrades with a great variety for certain play-styles whether that be long range with snipers, short range with smg's and 4 barreled shotguns or the more stealth approach with high pressured bb and crossbows. on top of that there is a good number of upgrades for your gear itself from night-vision to metal detectors to find extra resources.

The Survival mechanics
Absolutely fantastic, the use of scavenging for ammo and resources adds to the tension and the gasmask and its filters increase it further. Its never too hard to be stocked up on these pieces to the point where its impossible to progress but it adds layers of tension to fights when you find yourself low on filters with a dirty gun and no health-kits while beasts surround you.

The level design
breath-taking, sometimes literally. Not only did they make the game semi open world but they managed to cram in the hand crafted and lived in feel of every place. During the areas you visit there are many side quests that can be done that are completely optional but affect how over people are in the game. This ranges from saving the life of a random villager and hearing the locals mention of your good deeds amongst random conversations to finding a guitar for a comrade that allows you to listen to and jam out with them during the quiet sections of the game.
Other choices in the game are far more dire and if missed can affect the game entirely which for somepeople is annoying but i personally loved seeing that all the good choices I made come to fruition.

Do you need to play the first 2?
Not entirely but you'll probably be a bit confused at the start and have little bond with some of the returning characters however there are plenty of new characters for you to get to know.

Final thoughts
If you like gritty immersive fps games with lots of lore to explore you'll not only love this game but the first 2. I'd heavily recommend buying the first two as they're often on sale and very cheap! The books are also good

What is the goal of Teardown
you must complete certain objectives by destroying and creating pathways before starting the timed objective while gaining weapons and upgrades as you level up along with a custom sandbox for some fun.

how good is the destruction?
you realise how much destruction is missing in video games playing this and how a little affect to the world can mean so much, for me it was driving a truck back from an objective and seeing all the little changes i had made, the sign being broken and hanging, the damaged wall i had clipped by accident, the metal fence on the floor that i had blow torched to take it off. To see how you impact the world without even thinking is very cool.
at a base level the destruction is fantastic however for me, the key draw back is the lack of weight from the areas falling down, seeing a giant brick tower tip and fall floatily and then do little to no damage did leave me wanting just a little more.

modding?
There is a discord and a good source of mods already being made mostly focusing on weapons and vehicles with an additional mod destruction toolkit if you want to punish your gpu.

Mission variety?
There's a decent amount of missions, they aren't all just stealing and getting away but they do generally focus around them a lot, however there are always little touches to levels to keep it interesting enough.

Bug?
I didn't come across any, no crashes either. not to say that its a perfectly bug free game but i personally didn't come across any.

weapon variety?
There's a good amount, most focus on destruction at different amounts and range with the extinguisher and planks doing different tasks. I feel the game would benefit a bit more by nerfing the shotgun damage on metal and keep that focused more for bombs and rockets. along with maybe tailoring future missions to these weapons.

new content?
After finishing the campaign i can confirm there will be more content, not sure when but it does say so in the game itself and im sure modding will aid this.

what does it need?
I think coop may be out the question but i would love some more ai rather than the last few missions. something that requires you to think about stealth or even your health bar a bit more.

Final thoughts
A fantastic game, a must buy if you like speed running, changing the environment and destruction. A fully operational game with more content than most finished games that come out and will only benefit from future updates and mods.

First of all I'd like to say that I played this on a oculus cv1 using gamepad movement and transitioning between standing and sitting with my chair behind me during my play-through. I am one of the lucky few who can play 7 hours of VR without getting motion sick at all

An absolute must have for anyone with a VR Headset.
Valve have once again proven they still have it.
I have no doubt that many developers will be borrowing mechanics from this game for their own.

At the core of the gameplay the game works very similar to previous games in the franchise.
you go into a room, kill everyone, solve the puzzle, however with VR its allowed them to create puzzles and situations that can't be dreamed of in traditional game peripherals. Source 2's physics system is extremely robust allowing you to get heavily immersed in the environment with being able to loot drawers shelves and crates just as you would in real life

The combat in the game very much reminds me of the old arcade-esc games such as time crisis and house of the dead but with the twist of being able to move around the world.
this isn't a bad move as it allows newer players time to reload aim and look around without getting overwhelmed but experienced
VR players with fast reactions will find the gun-play a little too easy even on the harder difficulty in my opinion.

Story wise it is a great addition to the half life universe and anyone who is interested in the universe but has no means for a VR game I'd heavily suggest watching a play-through so you're up to date with all the lore

The price is a little bit heavy for how many hours of playtime you may get however the quality of these hours are superb. there are many different locations with different atmospheres colour and design so each new area feels very different from the last. there is a large variety in the game with enemies old and new. there are a few weapons to choose from which you will definitely be swapping between throughout your play-through as each have meaningful upgrades and uses.

First of all I should say that I owned the original last light (hence the low hours)
before the Redux with multiple playthroughs and 42 hours. Redux is the same game but with extra dlc and improved visuals.

Personally my favourite of the series. an incredible storyline, rich world design and memorable characters.
never have I had a game immerse me like Metro Last Light.
A good variety of enemies
A decent pool of guns that can also be customised
large map designs and choices that allow for several play-through's
Great visuals that still hold up.
for your first play-through, the game is about 10 to 20 hours depending on your skill level and difficulty and how much you wish to walk around and listen to npc conversations.

A fantastic Turn Based strategy.
I don't normally like slow turn based games however this game is the acception.
a great character creation kit
Fantastic map design
A gripping and immersive storyline
a large workshop for further customisation to troops
plenty of upgrades and improves to both troops and your base
an even better dlc that makes the game new again.

At its core, kenshi is a open world rts with base building elements. Although its graphics are limited there is a certain charm to the art style and world building to this game that helps greatly with immersion.
Its definitely not a game for everyone due to its very slow progression lack of story or direction but if your someone who likes to create their own fun in games and don't mind spending 20+ hours to achieve it then I'm sure you'll love the game.
There is a good amount of workshop content that not only improve certain features in the game but also allow things to be suited to your playstyle.
