In-depth review I hope everyone will find useful: (skip to the bottom for pros/cons and a simplified review)

Overview: Now i've won a few games, came top 3 a number of times too, I feel I can make a justifyable review for this game. Realm Royale is a fantastic BR type game, with plenty of optimization in terms of skills/guns/classes to use and pick. Its graphically pleasing without being too reliant on a good pc, which means you can run it on a microwave/toaster if needed. The games are very fast paced and somewhat well balanced (especially when the mages firebolts arent involved LOL) and overall a blast to play. Its really pleasing in both solo or with friends in squad or duo so dont worry if you dont have many people to play with. You can even have the option to play squad (4v4v4 etc) with no team fill, meaning youre by yourself. I can only see this being useful if you are Ninja and wanting a 4v1 challenge but its a cool asset I guess. Patches are released very regularly so you really feel the game develop nicely aswell. In terms of bugs/technical issues, the servers arent great on weekends especially, during daytime they are fine but evenings are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of lag (100+ ping at all times, besides the point when you can face the top 10) and there are a few hitbox issues, ive seen hunters clip me through buildings with the legendary weapons lol, but this is very rare for me at least. Mouting on your horse can sometimes bug out also. The combat is a bit clunky compared to other BRs out there but its still a very nice experience overall. Also you wont get as mad when you die because you dont get knocked down like in other BRs, you instead get turned into a chicken so you can run away...made me laugh a few times ngl.

OVERALL REVIEW (PROS/CONS)

PROS:
- Classes are in-depth
- Loads of different abilities
- Loads of different weapons
- The 'Forge' crafting system and gems are really cool and unique
- I love horses in games so im a bit bias here (THE HORSE IS COOL AF)
- Legendary weapons are incredible, my favourite being the assassin sniper
- Graphics are cool unless ur more of a realist person who wants the lagfest of PUBG
- Great for people who don't like building spam / keyboard headbanging of fortnite or the chinese hackers in PUBG
- Runs on practically any PC as far as im aware
- The map has a cool design
- Emotes are plentyful and funny too
- Games are fast paced
- Ranking system is a bit confusing at first but makes sense the more you play but does need work I will admit.
- Option to play with team fill off if you want the challenge

CONS:

- Servers need to be updated/fixed I don't think devs were expecting the popularity of this game tbh
- Classes need to be balanced more, especially mages.
- Need more legendary weapons (at least 2 per class I imo)
- Abilities need to be reworked slightly
- Hitboxes need to be reworked too
- No customization/skins for characters as of yet
- Please add a pecking action/ability for when you're a chicken, gives you something to do besides die lol
- Mages firebolt/pyroblast is rediculous, even with full legendary armor and an engineers shield it can two shot you in certain cases, one of the main current problems with this game

Remember its early access / alpha so this game can only get better from now on really, solid game for its stage...INSTALL IT!!!

If you havent bought this yet, whats wrong with you!

Just buy it, and mod it with graphics mods, saves you 10 quid off the special addition lol.

I'm one of the few ones who actually likes the strongholds, but i do have to say, it has impeded on the survival aspect, and the game is significantly easier than it used to be, particularyly if you're on a PVE server. Just keep in mind i bought this game when it was paired with h1z1, like over 2 years ago, but overall, i recommend, just dont pay too much attention to people complaining all the time, even though the game is perfectly fine. BUT needs improvement :D

UPDATED REVIEW (2019)

Having now reached 2000+hrs on this game, over 3 years since ive purchased it and I have now reached Grand Champion (the highest rank) I feel ive experienced enough to give a full review and I can't recommend it highly enough really.
For the price, the amount of endless hours you can get out of it is incredible. I've had so much fun playing it and i'm sure others will too.
Yes there are some pros and cons, i'll list some below :

PROS:
-Great car customization

-Doesn't take a beefy pc to run (for reference I run on a gtx 1050 2GB and still manage to get 100fps+ on max settings)

-Hours of endless fun, gets better the higher ranked you are

-Ranked system is amazing

-The world championships (RLRS-RLCS) are a blast to watch, and you get in game rewards for watching them!

- Alot of funny moments whilst playing this game, too many to count

-Items from crates dont increase your performance, so they aren't necessary, but they do often make your car look cool, look at my screenshots for proof ;)

-Micro-transactions - keys for crates (bad and good)

-Soundtrack is amazing, and is getting better every patch, you can even listen to it whilst in a game, not just in the menu, unlike it used to be

-Updates are well managed, every competitive season adds something new, and resets the rewards, so you can get different ones every season.

-The satisfaction you get from ranking up and scoring incredible goals is endless, and is very addictive

CONS:
-Micro-transactions, crates/cars/dlcs etc (bad and good)

-Bugs are mostly never fixed (for example the classic supersonic demo bug is still a thing in 2019 and often the servers are really bad for latency)

-Some regions still dont have their own servers (Central US)

-Community can be a pain in the ass and toxic, but thats part of the fun, and all esports titles have this issue

-You kind of need to spend more money on the game if you want the best looking items, for example a black market decal can set you back anywhere from £5-£20

-Some cars are better than others - e.g octane and batmobile are considerably better due to the hitbox, than the gizmo and road hog

-Hitboxes of DLC cars are just reskinned cars that are already in the game, for example the Ice Charger is just a Dominus, so you are paying for the looks, not for a different car.

-Some ranked metas are overused and make certain playlists boring and repetitive (for example ballchasing and demoing the opposition in high ranked 2v2, and its been the same now for the past 2-3 seasons, its getting out of hand)

CONCLUSION:

Overall, if you have money to spend on this game, go and do it now, its such a fun game to play!

My tips for new players would be to ask for help from the community if you need it, team up with randoms as soon as you can for ranked, don't rely on solo queuing. JUST HAVE FUN!
