As a longtime Silent Hill fan, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Silent Hill 2 remake and after chilling with it for 14+ hours, I’m pretty happy with what I’ve seen. The foggy streets and eerie vibes are back in full force, looking better than ever with updated graphics that really pop. The story, which has always been a standout, still hits hard, pulling you into James Sunderland’s messed-up world. It’s a solid mix of nostalgia and fresh touches that kept me hooked, and honestly, it’s been a blast revisiting this classic in a new way. I’d recommend it to any fan or horror lover looking for that signature Silent Hill unease.

That said, it’s not all smooth sailing. The game’s a bit of a resource hog, and if you’re running it on a lower-end PC like I tried at first, you’ll notice some stutters which is kind of a bummer. And the price tag at $93+ CAD, it feels a tad over the top, especially with those performance hiccups. I get it, remakes take work, but that’s still a hefty ask. Still, if you’ve got a decent rig and can catch it on sale down the line, I’d say it’s absolutely worth grabbing.
