Early Access Review
UPDATED: 05.01.2020
For someone this might not be important but i want to start this review by saying that I NEVER write reviews about games but seeing a great VR game like this going under the radar, with so low reviews and such a high price barrier it baffles me, people need to talk about it.
Bear in mind that i'm writing this review after having played barely the first hour and half, i will make sure to update this review (positively or negatively) as soon as i play more of it.

🟩PROS:
+ Great Atmosphere (Silent hill vibes)

+ Tension builds up and doesn't revolve on cheap jumspcares

+ Interaction with the ambient:
you can open drawers and interact with the ambient to search for items, even though there is some furniture such as the kitchen which only prompts a text stating that there's nothing interesting, this happens with like 1-2 props, it's really a small percentage of them, it could be improved but not a big deal.

+ Classic survival horror gameplay:
resource management, no autosaves instead saves similar to original RE games, tough enemies, stealth..

+ Item combination
You can combine items in your inventory, such as gunpowder to create ammo or "key" items to advance in your adventure.

+ Environmental Puzzles
The first Chapter contains a good quantity of different puzzles that are well placed and merged in a good way with the map.

+ Good enemy variety

🟥CONS:
- Gunplay needs polish:
You don't intuitively pull a magazine from your inventory and manually reload your gun, instead a magazine magically appears in your hand when you are out of bullets, you then have to press a button to release the magazine and bring the magazine near your gun, an animation will start and you will reload. The problem with that is that's it's really rough in it's functioning and not fun to do.
I've actually asked then developer and he said that he plans to solve this at some point before release by implementing a more real approach.

- Difficulty levels:
Higher difficulty level means tougher enemies that deal more damage, i would have prefered less resources rather than simply ramping up the numbers considering that even on normal it takes a lot of swings to kill an enemy

- Tutorial:
Even if the tutorial is functional and well done, i think it would be a good idea to implement the tutorial into a more immersive experience that lets the player understand bit by bit how to play, instead of throwing tons of text at him for 5 minutes

- Smooth locomotion:
I'm lucky to not be affected by this but i think it's a point that needs to be considered, i understand that there are a lot of people that have trouble with locomotions that differ from teleport, nonetheless the walking speed is pretty slow so maybe you won't be affected by sickness?

💸PRICE:
Content Length:
I've read that it should offer around 20-30 hours of content if not more, if that's the case and the quality remains this high it's really worth it's price and you should buy it now.

9 hours in and i've finished the first Chapter.
The game has a total of 4 Chapters, 8 Chapters are planned on release.

Things to keep in mind:

1) I'm quite ♥♥♥♥ at this game and it took me way longer than it should on certain parts, realistically i would say you could have been 2 hours faster than i was.

Which brings me to the conclusion that if you are an average gamer that takes his time to search every room and moves carefully it would take you around 7/8 hours to finish the first Chapter.

(I will update this part when i'll have more to say)
