It's literally Pulsar but better in basically every way. It's already almost on par content wise with Pulsars full game and this is just the demo! There's tons of guns and even deployables. It's a frikking demo man, this ♥♥♥♥ is nuts. Also the movement mechanics are amazing, you can fly through Zero G like in Anthem and you can grapple onto enemy ships, blow up some stuff on it and set it to self destruct.

I really hope they nail the full launch cuz this is an amazing demo.

It hurts to give this a downvote because I really like the style and the concept but I just couldn't actually play it due to poor performance. I've tried all the fixes, I've tried playing on the lowest graphics I simply can't get it to play smoothly. My PC is capable of running all the newest AAA games at well over 60fps but this can't even maintain 30fps.

I'm not going to refund this though because I have high hopes that a few patches will fix up the performance at which time I will immediately change this to positive. But for right now, I simply can't recommend this unless you're lucky enough to have this run on your rig.

The UI covers 50% of the screen, the game is horribly optimised, animations are clunky, graphics are ok.

Where the hell did all the positive reviews come from?

Refunded till I can play offline. I'm just not a fan of matchmaking where I'm joined by at pro who just runs off and blasts through everything. I'd like to actually play the game at my own pace.

The game plays like a free mmo with tons of grind and cooldowns. This is a game you're paying full price for, you go to mine some iron, you make iron ingots, cool. Then you progress a bit more and you need Fae Iron, how do you get it? By mining some ore and turning 50 into 1 Fae Iron, but you can only convert 10 Fae Iron at a time and then you need to wait a couple hours before you can make more. Then you progress a bit more and you need Void Metal for something, how do we get Void Metal? Well uh, you mine some iron... and uh... you turn 100 into 1 Void Metal. And you can only convert 10 Void Metal at a time and uh.... the same way things work with iron is how it works in woodworking, leatherworking and tailoring or looming I guess as actually making cloths of out of the material you make is another skill.

There really is just grind upon grind upon grind and it feels like you should be buying a cash shop item to boost your speed of gathering material, there aren't any such boosts in the cash shop, but it sure feels like there should be. Also everything takes ages at the start, if you're really trying to experience the game you'll see so many damn loading bars it's insane. You slowly increase your speed at doing stuff by getting better tools and each area has like area buffs that you unlock while questing in an area so you've got that to grind out as well, those buffs can significantly increase your speed more so than tools (at least in the early to mid game, I'm level 32 as of writing and I went from Flint to Iron to Steel tools)

The animations are incredibly awkward, you have 1 destroy thing animation and it's kicking it whether it's a box or a stone tablet. The gameplay/combat is floaty, everything takes ages and my god there's so many things you can grind I think it actually beats those free to play mmos. The story so far is pretty lame, what starts out as an interesting setting quickly becomes an eyesore when you see peoples decorated houses that look incredibly out of place and magical weapons that glow in various RGB colours that just don't fit the setting they were going for (A setting I was really looking forward to! At this point I'll have to replay Greedfall so I can experience that Conquistador meets Magic setting). It's just a free to play mmo being sold to you buy a company that doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about you or about making a good game.

There is one positive thing I will give them, the fact that crafting is viable. To my knowledge, this is the only game where crafting can level you up almost as if you were questing. At around level 20 I took a step back to work on the various crafting and gathering skills before I moved on, I got most of them up to 100 out of 250 and went from level 20 all the way to 30. So if you just want to craft and never leave the starting area, you absolutely can. Potentially even stay in a single city the whole time buying all the materials you need on the market, hard but not impossible. I really like that that's a thing but it's not enough for me to recommend this game to anyone.

I'll be finishing the main story and then forgetting about this, maybe I'll check up on it in October? Though I'm sure youtube will be full of videos about it so I won't need to set a reminder

This is not a bad game. I'm not downvoting it for being bad, I'm downvoting it for those who may feel similarly to how I feel.

The game is an always online survival game, that's fine if a bit rough. The combat doesn't feel very weighty the crafting and resource gathering is a bit too clean and simple but it's also grindy so maybe this is better? If all this sounds ok to you then you might find something here, it's a cool setting even though it SCREAMS bootleg Death Stranding but hey, that's not a bad thing.

So why am I downvoting? Well, I'm one of those people who don't like PvP survival. I'm not against playing with others, but I hate having a weeks worth of work destroyed overnight. In that sense this game is really good it has a dedicated PvE mode which is perfect. But there's an issue. Every single server I tried, has buildings all over. Every single bit of the world has been built over by other people. You load in to the main map Fortnite style floating from the sky and you just get to see the thousands of player homes slowly popping in as you get closer.

I hate this. Especiaclly because most of these people have already quit the game, leaving all their ♥♥♥♥. Sure, you could wait till they wipe the servers and play the first day when it's all still fresh but quickly it all just gets plastered over. Dedicated servers could be a fix, would also help with ping in unsupported regions but given this is a free game that's not likely to happen in fact, something as simple as low pop servers would be enough, if there were a couple servers that only allowed a small amount of people in, that'd work but again not something they're likely to do. So if you're anything like me, I'd hold off on this for now. If you don't mind having to walk to the ends of the map to try and find a free spot to build your base then all power to you.

I'd like to add that I would actually pay to be able to play this without all those people, if I could host a server or something. I've played pretty much all the survival games on steam from Subnautica to Conan Exiles to Rust and all the way to Hurtworld and many many more so when I say this one has potential, I mean it. It also has a story line which is something I love to see in survival games as it gives you just a little direction if you want it and you can always completely ignore if you're not interested.

This isn't a bad game, but it's not a game I can play and if you're like me, I hope this stops you from wasting time downloading the game. Maybe keep an eye on it though, I certainly will.

I love all of the things they've added but I hate almost everything they've changed. The story skips wildly along and the lack of a main hub in favour of multiple hub areas that you randomly get to during episodes isn't as good as it sounds.

In general the episodic structure of it just being a mission select window is really disappointing, I used to love coming back to the Cantina and going to buy modifiers or new characters.

I also hate how charcters have been robbed of their individuality, R2 D2 used to have jet packs that would allow him to get over wide gaps, now he jumps? Jar Jar used to have a sick double jump that would you get you to normally unreachable areas, not anymore.

I have backed a grand total of 1 kickstarter. This 1. I'm sorry, I'm sorry for thinking this would be cool and not a scam. I was young and naive.

I was very hyped for this game but it's a bit poorly optimised and the always online requirement even in singleplayer ensure that I cannot play this game at a decent frame rate.

For recent reference points Sunkenland, The Front, Encased and Palworld all open world survival games with varying graphics all ran really well on my pc.

I do absolutely love the design, I think it brings in some really interesting and unique ideas to the survival genre. I'm reminded a bit of Portal Knights because yes, you travel through portals to different world types.

I also love the idea of npcs that help you build and gather resources. In Palworld this was seemeless and an absolute joy because it was very hands off. In Nightingale you cannot give any commands to an npc. It depends on what item they have equipped so there I was in a forest biome, made a nice stone hut in the woods. Found an npc with an axe, brought them over to my base and they started automatically chopping down trees in the area which was great for about 3 seconds till every tree hit my house and constantly broke the stone walls and roof before I could repair them. I literally went over to them and took the damn axe away. Gave them a mining pick instead thinking they would simply wonder till they find something to mine as your only interaction with them is either to have them follow you or to stop following you. Instead, the npc just stood there, unable to figure out what to do. They did make a really good guard though when my base got attacked but that's the only part I felt they were really useful for.

If I could give it 50% I would as I can see some people really enjoying it but for plenty of others this is just a really cool idea at least for now. This is early access so I'm open to having my mind changed when it's cooked a bit more.

Fully released, plays worse than early access builds and the whole thing is beyond rough. It's very much still an early access game pretending to be fully released. Shameless.
