Took me a minute to calm down and be able to do gens.
Sometimes I think there should be more mechanics than just pushing spacebar on a timer, but overall it's a fun game to play with friends.

I bought this game after Evrima had come out and have recently enough passed 1000 hours. I went back and tried Legacy later but I don't have nostalgia goggles for it, so I can see it for the weird pond sitting chat simulator it is. Legacy is just tail riding with what feels like the same dino, in a different skin.

Evrima had a lot more going for it. I had to join the discord because of the lack of global chat, but it's barely moderated by volunteers and so many people get banned unjustly. I literally saw someone get banned for 'propagating misinformation' by letting a player know they would probably die vs receive an unstuck by an admin. (which is true) There are cheathackers galore and no real support from devs. The feedback channel is decorative at best and a banning channel at worst. If you fall under the map, get stuck in a hole, lose your dino to a hacker; you will not receive support from anyone. If you're new and dislike what might seem like rulebreaking behavior in game and speak about it in the discord you'll get bullied. (there are no rules, probably because someone would have to do the work of enforcing them)

The game also doesn't teach you in itself. You HAVE to learn from people that know. There is literally nowhere, not a wiki, NOWHERE that tells you how to play certain dinos, what abilities they have or what keys activate them. The game now sets players on automatic alt attacks which many don't even realize. So unless you're lucky enough to find someone nice to explain to you in the discord or even rarer in the game, you're basically SOL.

I play this game despite it's many flaws for these wonderful glimmers I see sometimes while playing or interacting with friends, but I can't in good conscience recommend it. If I didn't already have a friend group in this game, I don't know how I'd manage anything in it.

Played it for a while with my partner. I think it is strangely cute. Still has an element of fear. I like seeing things from the smaller perspective.

It reminds me of Minecraft, but a bit more fast paced somehow.
