Games great, when it works.

another pi$$ poor port sadly. Crash after crash after crash. I've soldiered on through and sunk 70 hours into it so far collecting everything and doing all the story quests but having waited 4 years to play it, its incredibly disappointing having it desktop repeatedly.

If you've waited this long already id wait a little longer and see if they patch out the BS.

Early Access Review
Fantastic concept, hella fun.
...When it works.

Recommended? Yes - Conditionally.

Sadly in its current state it is very much as youd expect being early access. Lots of crashes, which is fine and expected, but its always at the end of a match, preventing you from getting XP and progressing. If you drop from a game you lose your place, you cant reconnect and your efforts in that match are forgotten.

In its current state if you can get your fix without needing to progress / level up then you can have a blast, but the game is early development and needs a solid amount of work / polish to get it to a full release state.

Core game play loop - Great.
Aesthetic - Fantastic.
Sound Track - Outstanding.

Everything else is absolute garbage.

They haven't learned anything from their previous projects, the community or feedback.
The primary focus of this cash cow is premium cosmetics.
The fact they have the audacity to put out communications praising themselves for "content drops" that have been drip feeding BASE GAME FEATURES promised before the BETA, and started to be added many months later is outrageous.

This game needed an early access label, it still needs a bloody early access label. They keep changing how things work, they cannot word the skills properly to the point they were ambiguous at best. A lot of the features and mechanics aren't new, they are older assets getting new paint and they still keep F'ing it up.

What in the merry F is with the loading times between each screen? booting the game, having to press space bar to start yet again more loading for 0 reason, i already clicked play, why do i have to confirm that i would like to play the game and load into the servers!? then faced with character selection, another eternity of loading, only to get into a "lobby" that has 0 need or function beyond looking grim dark.

I was so sceptical about this game being too similar to previous titles and them not being able to make it feel different enough from past projects and i was pleasantly surprised, admittedly this game feels different enough in the core game play loop to warrant playing it over Vermintide - that's literally where it ends. Everything else about this game is infuriatingly bad. Things that should be so simple and basic stuff to get right, things that have been in the previous games and been removed from this one, its flat out ridiculous.

"Give us your money." overpriced toss.

Pick up and have fun with some friends if heavily discounted, desperately needs more maps/game modes, its been almost a year since release and there were 6 maps of the original planned 7 till recently, and today they apparently added 2 more - there just isn't enough game for the core loop to be fun beyond a certain point.
Shame on you if you buy premium skins in a first person game and fuel this nightmare.

- Not only that, now its on console they have given 12,000 premium currency to players who have bought the base game, the rest of us who supported the game with the extra expensive edition got 2400. Seriously!? Unbelievable... ** Forgot to mention, but this latest update with the skill tree rework has significantly improved the game. Now they need more maps and more content to play these new characters on as sadly we've been playing the same 7 maps and objectives for the past 12 months as it is. But Im happy to report something positive that Fatshark have managed to do, its just a shame its 12 months late, and they didnt put a "early access" label on the game.

Id like to double point out giving Xbox players 12,000 premium currency to spend on cosmetics for just buying the game, when people who spent £50 supporting the game form the beginning got 2,400 - WHICH ISNT EVEN ENOUGH FOR A SET ANYMORE! is just flat out disgusting. Shame on you...

Game started out amazing, and progressively over time its got worse and worse. As stated by others, with every update.

Developer cares less and less about the player base, doesn't listen to feedback from the community and only wants you to cough up more of your money. I get they need to earn something but its supposed to be give and take, not take and take.

Incredibly pay to win, not to say skill doesn't play a huge part in it, but there is a stupid amount of vehicle and nation bias, the balancing has gone completely out the window, and most recently they have nerfed in-game rewards to the point that its not worth playing above a certain BR as you cannot earn enough back to repair your vehicles and progress - even with premium vehicles and premium account time (both give extra rewards).

Now that alone is a massive oopsie but forgivable, and easily fixable, the problem i have is the response to the community bringing this to the attention of development. Its reminding me an awful lot of the Disney "well if you don't like it you're racist" comments, or Elizabeth Banks's "my movie bombed because you're all sexist pigs".

Wake up - you made a decision and change your player base hated, and more so your response to them bringing it to your attention was outright arrogant and ignorant.

I was looking forward to the may sale to purchase a new vehicle pack, and the way you have dealt with this situation has quite literally prevented me giving you any more money.

I hope you learn from your mistakes and take onboard that respect is a 2 way street, Gaijin.

Single player? fantastic game.

Red Dead Online? avoid like the plague. Full of hackers, cheaters, information thieves. Absolute disgrace the state of the online play. Everything is either locked behind levels or currency, and both of which are an enormous time sink to achieve anything, which normally wouldnt be so bad, but again, when people are flying around in god mode, teleporting relentlessly to your location and putting you down, not only does it take twice an eternity, any enjoyment is sucked out of it.

Activated the Ultimate Edition on Rockstars launcher direct, took over 2 days for the content to be added to my game, and Steam doesn't recognise that its even been purchased and keeps trying to sell me the upgrade.

Needs serious work / anti cheat / moderators before RDO is worth any time or money. The single player story and campaign however is great.

- Another week, and significantly more cheaters, hackers, bugs, crashes - Red Dead Online is a gigantic mess and its mostly ruined with the lack of anti cheat. People literally have cheats to stop you reporting them for foul play, an its either a massive coincidence or when you do get to a point you're about to send your report, the game ends up crashing to desktop with no report option. No "oops this wasn't supposed to happen, can you send us details please?"

Online RD is a f****** joke, and it makes me genuinely angry people have paid money for this experience...

Where to begin...

Left for Dead set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe.
Melee combat that satisfies like nothing else I've played to date.
Mechanically speaking this game is incredibly fun, addictive and is fulfilling to play.

That said there are still some incredibly annoying bugs/features that should have been fixed eons ago. Examples being disconnects and crashes, lobbys "breaking" acting like they are closed when they are open, sections of scenery you can get stuck in and ruin your run.

The loot system, although i understand they wanted to keep a die element like tabletop, is horrific. 2000 hours in and there are still items and skins that are out of reach because random chance. You end up with 100's of the same weapons and skins desperate to get something you don't have but alas, its not meant to be.

The lack of maps / content released for this title over the years really hurt. With the announcement made stating "We hear you about the DLC and what you want so we have changed the way our DLC works, are you ready kids? IN APP PURCHASING AND COSMETICS FOR CUSTOMISATION!" - Not what the community asked for at all. The first few DLC's were bascially the same maps but reskin'd and you run them backwards, 2 more happened to be 6 maps from the previous title - so nothing really new there either.

It was years before the Chaos Wastes maps were introduced and that was the first DLC that felt like any original work had gone into it instead of a recycled cash grab.

Each DLC comes with some new weapons which are incredibly fun and satisfying to play, its a shame they are locked behind a pay wall but thats really the main reason to by the DLC's. A good point is if the host of your lobby owns the DLC maps and you dont, you still get to play them which is nice.

13 Original maps, +3 DLC, +3 more DLC, + the weaves that no one plays or enjoys as its the same maps reskinned run backswards and Time Trail. +1 DLC map, and then the different game mode Chao Wastes DLC - Unfortunately there aren't that many maps to play, and yet my hours played speaks volumes.

Well worth playing with friends, can play solo or with match making, varying difficulties for all skill levels and experience. Be prepared to pay extra for all the bells and whistles.
