Old school RPG gaming is back! They hit just about all the high notes they needed to. The only problem they have is that Divinity Original Sin came out a couple months before and knocked the ball out of the park. This new version already feels dated and a little hand cuffed, but I think that's more due to Divinity being so good versus this not quite living up to the same expectations. Still an excellent game for any classic RPG fans.

EUIV takes the just one more turn play of Civilizations and turns it up to 11!! I can't even begin to count the number of times I've looked up at the clock and wondered where the last 2, 3, 4 and even 5 hours disappeared to!

It took me awhile to get into the game and figure out what would be so exciting about sitting and staring at a giant map for hours on end, but once it clicked, I was all in. Patience and lots of really good online guides and Let's Play are definitely your friends when it comes to trying to get the most out of the game without feeling completely lost. Really great and friendly community built around this series and I can see why.

Multiplayer both entrigues and terrifies me, but I'm hoping to give it a try one day.

Can't say enough about just how deep this game can be and how many hundreds of decisions there are to make that can take you in completely different directions. If you're anything like me, you'll eventually walk away from a gaming session and do nothing but think about how a small decision like agreeing to help your neighbouring country out against a seemingly weaker country and easy pickings turns into the entire Holy Roman Empire breathing down your neck!!
