It's got the worms soul, it feels like a party game, and if you ever played Liero or Soldat you'll be at home.

Shame it doesn't have custom lobbies for friends to play.

My review of Steam Reviews is zero stars, it didn't let me write as much as I wanted so here is the dummies version.

My review of Tree of Savior is that it is absolutely worth trying.

The art and world style are very nice but would be offputting to anyone who cannot handle more whimsicle and ridiculous world and enemy designs.

Class designs are very reserved in comparison and Tree of Savior mostly lacks the mile high shoulderpads and chainmail bikinis of other MMO universes.

I would be lying if I said there were no Pay to Win aspects
Tokens are essentially a one month premium membership with numerous powerful benefits that can be traded once.
If prices were made to match the Korean version of the game, they may cost the equivelant of $17.
There are also much cheaper Enchant Scrolls that add random stats to cosmetic headgear.
The issue is that the potential to get a good result is all up to chance, and the chances aren't good.

Now I must be blunt, he game runs terribly.
The visual effects in Tree of Savior should be able to run on a phone but will put a modern four core processor with a mid level dedicated graphics card in a bad place.
Getting sixty frames per second in a party is a feat worthy of applause.

Control methods are varied and mostly but not quite equal.
Keyboard and Gamepad controls are essentially on a level playing field but Mouse controls are blatantly better for archers and arguably better for all other classes.
Mouse controls are however incredibly glitchy when attempting to interact with objects in the world, most instances of these glitches have not been fixed since the Alpha tests.

Gameplay involves fetch quests and grinding.
You will do a lot of fetch quests and grinding.
However, some of us are OK with that so we played.
Classes feel varied and interesting
Combat is action based and movement is paramount however basic grinding activities don't offer much challenge.

Class and Build diversity is effectively enormous, but builds deemed practical or valuable in serious situations may yet prove to be very limited. The MMO community is notorious for promoting cookie cutter solutions after all.

Developer to Player interaction is interesting.
It seems obvious to me that IMC are fumbling in the dark with every decision they make regarding the international version but I believe the absolutely want the best for the game.
In this past month they have established a Southeastern Asia, South American, and European server according to demand.
Before that they held a poll to decide exactly what it would cost and how long the Founders program would run.
I worry that they listen too intentively to the vocal minority and make changes too quickly, but they are making those changes for the community making them.

I would certainly recommend installing and trying Tree of Savior for a few days on the 10th of May when it becomes free to everyone.

Its fun at first and then a few hundred hours in upon realising that there are no real goals in the game you keep wishing you could just quit but your brain keeps telling you to log in again.

Its Metal Slug 3, what do you expect?
The action onscreen is ridiculous, the alternate routes are varied, the secrets are innumerous, and the music is.... choppy.

Yah the ports music sounds really off beat.

And the multiplayer requires one player to manually invite the other.

But those two issues aside you get what I think is the best arcade platformer the world may ever see.
