Fantastic game, only reason i would not be recommending it is the second game literally includes the campaign of this one and has built in workshop. There isnt really reason to buy this when you can literally get it *and* the second game's campaign for 10 bucks or cheaper depending on if there's a sale.

I was *this* close to not recommending this mod, because it's a really mixed bag.

Firstly, i can't exactly place why, but it felt boring a lot of the time; I didn't feel drawn to play it start to finish as i did in Mel or even Forbidden Testing tracks (of which is a quite disliked mod). One possible reason i can point to is the fact that i did not care for any of the characters in specific; I just didn't really care if they lived or died, and that's a problem. The second core is a major imrovement over stirling, though.

Minor nitpick, Stirling sounds like a personification of the nerd face emoji, and feels like a badly written wheatley.

Another minor nitpick is that "5-8 hours of gameplay" is simply untrue, i finished it in like 3.

Second major gripe is the ending. What. a. letdown. There basically is no ending. You complete this actually-pretty-cool sequence and are met with..............................NOTHING! That's it, that's the end! There's a short cutscene afterwards, but it doesn't really add much and the only plotpoint it adds feels shoehorned in. It falls flat on its face and is incredibly anticlimatic.

Puzzle design is fine. Only nitpick is It feels like the puzzle designer(s) played a LoneWolf2056 map and were like "thats cool, lets put cube respawning as a mechanic in EVERY chamber!"

Verdict?
Good mapping and pretty level design, but mid puzzles and mid writing.

Felt like more of an excuse for the mappers to show off their skills than an attempt to tell a compelling story.

I will say, though: The soundtrack is stellar. Well done on the musical side.

its aight. could definitely be improved but this isnt "bad" by any means and it gave me a good few hours of fun. the ai voices are silly at times and the backrooms section was goofy as hell. the "twin sister" adage brings me right back to the days of john freeman. point im making is, this mod tries to be cool at a lot of points but falls flat on its face. The soundtrack however, is GREAT and is to be commended for such. conclusion: its free so whatever its an interesting experience that felt like it was written by a 14 year old

I love it, it really takes me to a different world and is just so immersive. The gunplay is amazing, but its pretty hard. Still, i love this game so much!
