looked very cute and fun while watching friends play, but now imagine as a dev putting in all that effort just to throw it away with a P2P networking model. I just dont get why anyone thinks that's ever acceptable. If they don't want to pay for servers, just use Unity's built-in host-client model and it would have been playable; instead while I'm playing with NA and ZA friends at the same time, everyone, including the "host" (party lead), gets minimum 3-400 ping instead of 150. if you plan to play solo or with matchmaking you won't see this problem, but if you plan to play with friends who are further than driving distance, keep scrolling, it's a digital paperweight. ended up refunding within minutes after I saw one of the devs confirm it on the forums. not possible for it to get better and nothing i can do to fix it.

not yet, maybe later unless you're in it just for reach nostalgia

most of the time it's alright; you'll get in a match with little to no leavers and have a good amount of fun, but it's a much rougher launch than people admit

there are network and crashing issues that have resulted in temp matchmaking bans for multiple people i know. no backfilling and lots of other minor mp headaches with ignored forum topics from the original game make that worse. on top of that which i've experienced, one friend can't connect to our lobby unless we have infection selected, and another has a second of mouse lag in co-op campaign.

the only thing i can tell they did in terms of weapon balance for the move to pc is make everyone always start with the dmr in every mode that's not weapon-specific like snipers only or fiesta slayer, which means not only is there no reason to ever use any weapon but the dmr/sniper because they're stupid good save for cheeky one-shots like rockets, you already have it when you spawn. i think they did it for the kbm experience, but it's the opposite of what they should have done. it resembles planetside 2 mountain vs. mountain sieges more than console halo and gets pretty stale after a while.

they're aware of a lot of issues. we'll see if they're good about addressing them.

CS:GO Review
They're finally making it what it should have been on release.

It, the first CS to be thus, has a certain "mainstream game" feel to it, but aside from that, it includes countless improvements, including inventories, substantial graphics upgrades, official playlists, the first full OST and lots of new maps. In addition to the base game, it has as much mod support as any other CS with a full server browser in addition to the full matchmaking system.

Even if you only played a couple of mods that one time another CS game was on sale, this is definitely worth a try.

A lot better than I expected. Tonnes of customisation, lots of missions/assignments, ships, devices, environments, and abilities. Complex starship combat with dynamic shields, lots of different ground weapons too. Considering it's F2P, definitely worth a try.
