I don't like the Steam review system because I'm honestly 50/50 on whether or not I'd recommend the game. The gameplay is fun, but really only with friends do to the massive amount of grinding/resource gathering required on the official servers. This is remedied on private servers though. My main negative issue with the game now, however, is with the DLC. If they want to release DLC for a game that is still in early access, it shouldn't still be in early access in my opinion. Currently, however, you are allowed to transfer stuff over from the dlc server to the old server, which is a massive pain. I'm currently dealing with random people who have no time on the server I'm on coming in and wiping all of the players with tames from some random Scorched Earth server. Where is the counterplay in that. How are you supposed to defend against something you don't even know is coming. Not only that, they added another creature that can destroy stone structures. A hour long tame is able to destroy stone structures and can't be damaged by automatic base defense such as turrets. Wildcard keeps adding ways to destroy bases but doesn't add any ways to defend them. If you're going to play on this game, ignore the official servers, just play on private servers. Or else you'll lose 350 hours of work by something you can't control unless you plan on spending weeks worth of time gathering materials.


Edit: Ark Omega good mod. Still not very polished but can still be fun with a group or with some mods. Still 50/50 but if you include mods I'd lean more towards positive.
