Skyrim in itself is a beautiful game, with a lot of things to do! The game might be old, and people could base a review on nostalgia alone. But let me sum it up.

The game has a fantastic atmosphere, a beautiful soundtrack, lots of quests and areas to find and explore. Even after 200+ hours over both "Classic Skyrim" and the "Special Edition" I still find new areas to explore.

The game focuses on leveling up your abilities, you do this by using that specific skill over and over.
Want to be strong in one-handed combat? Use a one-handed sword. Dying to often? Maybe level up your blocking and armor. Don't want to be up close and personal? That's cool, use the bow and level up that stat to instant kill when unseen.
The only flaw this system has is that the higher level you become, the stronger the enemies are. This means that switching from a skill in level 80 to a two-handed weapon in level 3 makes you deal next to no damage with that weapon.

With Skyrim Special Edition you get all the DLC's for the game, this includes Dragonborn, Hearthfire, and Dawnguard.
All of which changes the game a little.

Dawnguard features a battle between 2 factions, and let you choose to become either a werewolf or a Vampire

Heartfire lets you build a house and adopt up to 2 children, or just live there with your spouse.

Dragonborn adds a new island on which you have to defeat a strong NPC (Spoilers avoided)

If you enjoy the game or want to expand on some of the things Skyrim doesn't do right, there most likely is a mod to fix it. I myself did not like that I was unable to sprint jump, so I found a mod that lets me do that.
Feel like the cities are to gray? Install one of the many beautiful city overhauls.
There are many tutorials on YouTube if you are having trouble with a mod. You can install mods through the game, but many people choose Nexusmods to find and install mods.

The game does have it's flaws, however. There is a lot of bugs, some of them even require mods to fix. Most of the bugs are luckily not impactful on your playthrough and are a mostly fun experience. Mammoths standing in the air in the distance, items flying around when opening doors, and many more.

Skyrim a meme as it maybe is still good game, and when I start playing on a new character, I will most likely play the game for a week or two, with at least 6 hours pumped into the game at once. I still enjoy the story and gameplay mechanics, and all the things I dislike about the game, I fix with a mod.

I 100% recommend this game for people who like to explore, or just looking for a fun game to play.
