Pros:
Execution system is really neat, and adds a strategic flare. Always looking for the action point stack, making combat much more interesting and dynamic than Xcom.

Like that only a few missions have times, don't like timers, I am good with almost any other mechanics timers are annoying.

Over watch revamp is very nice.

Being given 3 action points to move and shoot as you would like was really satisfying, instead of the hard restrictions that other games of this genre put on the player.

I think the world of this game is perfect for a tactical game like this.

Con:

Restricting hero's feels a little too arcade for me.

Inventory system does need some work, it is very clunky and could due with some refinement.

Funny: I noticed that there is really not much of a gender toggle, that is an interesting choice. Some of the models are pretty square jawed to be female. From a design aspect saves on model making time, I see what you did here.

Side quest map variation gets a little stale, not a fan of not being able to use equipment during missions for arbitrary reasons. Add environmental mechanics, something else.

Not being able to level to max level before the final fight. You only have a certain number of missions before you will get to the final fight, and I was unable to max any character out before then. So you go into the final fight of the game not at max strength.

Thoughts:

I would say they have a pretty good formula here. If they put in something to do other than from one combat mission to another they have a game that I would continue to buy. Currently it is very combat centric. While I like the combat, I recommend just scaling it back a little bit and give us something else to focus on.

Because it is so combat focused, you can get combat fatigue in the game, with very little other aspects to focus on.

Pacing could use a bit of work mainly in the leveling up area, When your champions hit level 5 it is almost as if someone said whoa level 5 creeps up kinda fast, lets put the breaks right there. You then hit what feels like a brick wall leveling to 6.

I recommend this game at full price as the boss battles are very fun and a nice addition to this genre.

I highly recommend this at a discount. If you are an Xcom fan, this is a game for you as well.
