I have been playing this game on and off since 2004. It has had its ups and downs. The studio behind it has made some bad moves and some great ones. In the end, it's still a great game with a thriving community.


Absolutely not. There isn't a quick way to get to the current level caps like World of Warcraft has but, over they years it has become much easier to level up. In the past it could easily take years to get a maxed account but now, it can be accomplished in a year.

However, I will say that starting to get into the came can be challenging. I recently got my wife to start playing and some of the biggest hurdles were wrangling the interface, figuring out combat (abilities), and trying to figure out what to do.

There are plenty of guides available (YouTube and Discord servers) with interface and combat guides. The wiki[runescape.wiki] also provides a ton of information on these topics. As for figuring out what to do in game, quest are always a great place to start.

With a bit of guidance, my wife has grown to love the game. I hope anyone else considering starting to play Runescape is able to find someone (or something) to help them through the initial hurdles.
