Well, it's definitely a game at least. I'm a huge fan of exploring lesser-known 'simulator' games like this, but at least a majority of the others look like they've had some amount of effort put in.

Of the 20 or so minutes I played of this game I think I played to the fullest extent. The gameplay consists of nothing more than collecting prisoners, walking around in a huge mass while attacking guards and collecting items to build a bomb.

After a couple of rounds it just gets repetitive, the prisoners all spawn in the same spot doing the same thing, the traps are all the same and the guards only consist of two variants so there's little to no replay value in this game at all.

For some I can understand this could be a somewhat satisfactory timekiller, but there's much better out there.

Early Access Review
It's not often I get genuinely scared by a horror game, and upon launching Phasmophobia for the first time I wasn't expecting much when I saw the Unity logo pop up on the screen. Oh boy was I wrong.

Upon first glance at Phasmophobia it comes across as a cheap, taped together survival/horror game, but after a few hours playing I learned that there's so much more than meets the eye.

The rules are simple, in a team of up to four players, you assume the role of paranormal investigators. Initially only being equipped with basic tools you enter a haunted house, as your player level progresses you can unlock access to other spooky locations such as an abandoned high-school and a derelict mental asylum.
Each location has been inhabited by a paranormal entity, it's your team's job to locate which room this being inhabits, and then endure the ensuing horror as you desperately try to figure out which of the nine types of ghosts it is.

Each ghost has unique abilities and tell-tale signs, such as freezing temperatures, fingerprints that can only be found with a UV light, ghost orbs which are only found with the remote video camera etc.

Phasmophobia promotes and rewards teamwork, mostly requiring one player to stay behind in the 'command centre' overseeing each player's sanity as well as recording sound data, player location, paranormal activity (There, I said it) and watching live video footage through either security cameras, remote video cameras or mounted 'GoPros'

For those who are a sucker for realism and immersion I would highly recommend you use the in-game voice communications instead of a third-party software. The in-game voice quality is second to none and the radio communications really do their part to immerse you into the horrors that is Phasmophobia.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who thinks they can stomach it. With only a few locations to choose from for now, it doesn't affect the game's replay value at all, and with so many different scenarios you can expect a different experience every time.

I can easily see why this game is so popular. It's an incredibly simple game with a lot of replay value, not exactly a AAA title but it's a great little game to pass the time.

The rules are simple, in a lobby of up to 10 players you can have up to 3 imposters who work against the rest of the team to stop them fulfilling their tasks either by killing them or by sabotaging the tasks which come over as small minigames. It's the rest of the team's job to weed out the 'imposters' and get their tasks completed.

Whether you play with friends or solo queue, this game is simple yet great. Easily run on any PC setup and only takes 1-2 games to get the grip of how it works with no tutorial needed.
