God, I missed Baggage and Shoots!

Unfathomably dumb, yet immeasurably fun.
Bulletstorm set in the Warhammer 40.000 Universe, heavily inspired by DOOM Eternal.

EDIT: The game is now fully released and is still great fun with 2-3x more content than when I first reviewed it. Also I haven't witnessed game breaking bugs or crashes.

One of those "there goes my free time" type of games

✔️ - Beautiful and nostalgic pre-rendered Diablo / Fallout artstyle
✔️ - Vampire Survivorslike reverse-bullethell mechanics with fresh ideas
✔️ - Plenty of cool characters + awesome abilities
✔️ - Developers are responding to feedback and updating the game constantly

❌ - A few game breaking bugs, some only causing crashes, but some resetting complete progress
❌ - Enemy variety and map pool are a bit lacking
(The game is in early access, so both are inteded to change)

It is a pretty astounding deal for it's price

Life technically stopped for €2.39 €4.99

This has to be one of the prettiest horror games I have ever played.

❌ - There are some technical issues here and there: huge lag spikes, some crashes, etc.

✔️ - The atmosphere was so thick, You can barely breathe;
✔️ - The presentation and graphics put some AAA games to shame;
✔️ - Good scares, and interesting monster;
✔️ - Great game for pretty screenshots;
✔️ - Easy 100% (~5h).

This is a disgustingly underrated hidden gem every horror fan should check out.
With a better story, it could have been on par with Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Extremely dumb, yet exceptionally fun. People don't make games like this anymore.

❌ - Confusing and pretentious narrative / character;
❌ - Predictable "YouTube Let's Play" oriented gameplay.

✔️ - The graphics and overall presentation are terrific;
✔️ - Way more refined than its peers were;
✔️ - Guaranteed fast 100% (~1h).

This game was directed towards YouTubers / Streamers, not actual consumers.

❌ - Kind of short;
❌ - Controls can be clunky;
❌ - Crazy scripted;
❌ - The stylized graphics didn't age well.

✔️ - Decent story / Voice acting / Sound design;
✔️ - The shooting and game mechanics are fun;
✔️ - The presentation is top-notch;
✔️ - Pretty easy to 100% (~10h).

A perfect representation of what an Xbox 360 / Playstation 3 era game felt like.

❌ - Casual is borderline unplayable, because of the bots;
❌ - Lack of new content in recent years;
❌ - Some classes are still comically OP;
❌ - Changed a lot since release.

✔️ - Changed a lot since release;
✔️ - Still extremely fun in 2021;
✔️ - Community is flourishing;
✔️ - As balanced as it can be, even with hundreds of new items.
