you didn't "change the payment model" you essentially raised the price of the game from $50 to $300, while letting people buy a limited time, I had real faith in this, but you are making a very bad choice

people want to OWN what they pay for, this isn't commercial software, it's a vr game

that being said the game WAS worth it at $50
