Dota 2 is a fun game, and creates an environment which rewards a good player for their skill.

First 25 hours : you will have absolutely no clue wtf is going on, you're barely learning just a handful of heroes to play, and rely on builds for items, and do terrible every game.

Next 75 hours : You start to understand a lot more heroes, and learn about things like wards and couriers. At this stage you will begin improving rapidly, and you'll probably be hooked on dota.

The next 200 hours : By now, you've learnt pretty much what every hero can do, and can purchase items specific to counter enemy heroes. You're more immersed in the game and can work with teamates to pull off good plays. You're trying out new heroes and likely find a select few that you enjoy playing, which are now your go to heroes.

The next 300 + hours : Different people at this stage improve at different amounts. Your last hitting and denying should get better. At this stage you have played enough in the game to not tilt. Every game you play you learn something, and adjust your builds and play style. Dota pushes you as you do well, and matches you up against better players who have played longer than you, showing you once again that you have a lot to learn.

Dota 2 is both a fun game with friends, to pull off funny or cancer strats, and a single player game where you can focus on your solo MMR or just general friends. The arcade works well and allows for skilled developers to show off their work, and has been successful in creating fun little minigames that work well with the dota 2 engine.

Also, voice chat is the best thing, ♥♥♥♥ league of legends that ♥♥♥♥♥ for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
