Born too early to explore the universe.
Born just in time to explore the Outer Wilds!

I bought this as a typo (I wanted Outer WILDS ). But I liked Fallout NV so I was optimistic.
Regrettably the game was rather mid.

For a space themed game there was very little wonder and awe (save for Scylla). I only noticed it when I looked at the sky or out the ship window. Beautiful skies and planets, but most of the time they don't even come into view.
Movement and gunplay are major elements of the game that leave much to be desired.
All the "science weapons" are kind of useless, because... balance? If balance was a problem, "science ammo" could have gated it...
Later in the game you get to make both interesting and impactful decisions. (Both are true only later on... early game lucky to have either)

For political game the only nuance is "corporation bad". It's no Bioshock, FNV, and lightyears behind DIsco Elysium.
And all this before the culture war.

Great mod, lovely details on the levels and lively voice acting.
Starts a bit slow, some places lack the "valve playtest" and I was stuck multiple times ( never happened in Portal 1/2).
Second half it picks up speed (literally) and brings joy

Good, could be better.
Stunning area design, but the combat arenas suck.
Enemy design is amazing, but their attacks are boring.
Endgame introduces interesting enemies, but that lasts a brief moment before game is over.
Optimistic for DLC.

Few games are so unconstrained in what can be a player character can do. The only limits being your imagination and the games' engine.

A good game

"Quality of life" : waste of time, DRM, breaking changes introduced with launcher.

Awesome game, served well as introduction to rhythm genre.
Base price is good for those wanting to test the waters
Personal progression feels insanely good, initially it was making eyes bleed, but your reading/tapping skills catch up.

10/10 makes me want to go to game center and bang on some taiko drums

DLC : 2021 April and May got new music packs so it's continuing to add value. Has a number of well-known rhythm game songs. You will buy this if base songs are no longer cutting it and you are addicted to fast↑↓↓↓songs↓↓↓↑↑**

If you want authentic, original, gritty battle royale.. Look elsewhere

Normal matches are 85% bots.
30 hours grind to ranked mode without bots.
95% playerbase is CN/KR servers
The only players left are lvl 500 with 1000s hours played, no matchmaking whatsoever.
Endgame is always a sniper battle, you move, you lose. Stale meta.
