Best thing you can do is cease interaction with this individual and just ensure that you never spend your money on *anything* they are ever involved with again. (Oh, and count yourself lucky you don't run an Airb&b apartment!!)
You've already wasted your money on this game- don't waste any more time on this pathetic scam artist. He's not worth it.
(But you can not crowdfund "only" for investing reasons, that's again against the Kickstarter rules: "Projects can not offer equity.")
Last but not least:
About the game: In my view, it has become a shooter and not a role play game (like it was promised).
The finished game can be difficult, but the difficulty level it has now, is unplayable for me and so no fun. I also have no way to adjust the difficulty level and therefore in no way it is the game I backed and hoped for. The graphics are very similar to the promised style, yes that's true, indeed. But: I do not backed for a (good 2D) graphic engine. I backed for a game.
Thanks for reading. I tried to write in my best English ... I really tried :)
Another important note: Crowdfunding, especially on Kickstarter, is not a donation, it's rather (imho) more an investment (that's the wrong word, but I can not find a better one), even with the risk that this investment is going down the drain - but someone who gives money to a project has the right that the developers try to make an effort, which was not the case here (at least for a long time).
>>Projects can't promise to raise funds to donate to [..] a cause. Funds raised on Kickstarter must go towards facilitating the project outlined by the creator on the project page. <<

- Lack of or very inadequate communication with the community (I too had sent the developer a short request in 2015 (that was my first and last one) - no answer - and I waited patiently almost 2 years to write my first short mail)
- At the same time there was this Airbnb scandal thing (people tend to mix up different topics. The story seemed "to smell" like illegal activities, so everything else that this person does must be illegal..) and again no communication from the developer
(and the thing with "Knuckle Club" .. that was not completely comprehensible to me - but sounded at first as a good approach - then again missing (long-term) communication ..).
- The developer has absolutely miscalculated the financial situation.
- The developer was most of the time not honest about the progress of the work and the to be expected results.
- My review (see above): I wanted it to be provocative funny, but it was full of emotions of disappointment about the product, and content-related not differentiated enough, I should have listed pros and cons, for example
- And very important (the big misbelief): Crowdfunding is not preordering a game!!
