*** This review is still in progress - there are still a few things to think about ***

No, no, no...

this was promised:
a strategy-oriented tactical RPG!

and now:
it's a 2D shooter with MOBA/RTS-like control mechanics... WT...

Examples for what is not in the game:

- You are presented with multiple options of deliverable goods.
- Before every mission you are debriefed on your delivery task.
- You are presented with a portfolio of potential crew members for hire.
- Moddable Weapons.
- Every character in Confederate Express has a specific set of skills.
- Every character in Confederate Express game comes with a set of perks.

Because scammers will always be weirdly shady, doing things like covering their tracks. That's part of their makeup.

Best thing you can do is cease interaction with this individual and just ensure that you never spend your money on *anything* they are ever involved with again. (Oh, and count yourself lucky you don't run an Airb&b apartment!!)

Do you really deleted all your good and reasonable comments? Why?

I will certainly objectively comment on the statements, but RL currently needs more of my energy

"Basically he's coming off like he's off antipsychotic meds" Not quite Olaf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder

I wouldn't waste any more time arguing with the Pashanin sock puppets- he's basically lauding his sub-par game without accepting any fault and victim-blaming backers. Basically he's coming off like he's off antipsychotic meds, so trying to reason with him while he's cooking up all kinds of excuses for his criminal behaviour is just wasted effort.

You've already wasted your money on this game- don't waste any more time on this pathetic scam artist. He's not worth it.

(But you can not crowdfund "only" for investing reasons, that's again against the Kickstarter rules: "Projects can not offer equity.")

Last but not least:

About the game: In my view, it has become a shooter and not a role play game (like it was promised).
The finished game can be difficult, but the difficulty level it has now, is unplayable for me and so no fun. I also have no way to adjust the difficulty level and therefore in no way it is the game I backed and hoped for. The graphics are very similar to the promised style, yes that's true, indeed. But: I do not backed for a (good 2D) graphic engine. I backed for a game.

Thanks for reading. I tried to write in my best English ... I really tried :)

(5) - The developer was disappeared for years without communication - this creates a big room for speculations and if you do not at least react here, then you should not be surprised about the negative reactions from the community, even if they seem unfair...

Another important note: Crowdfunding, especially on Kickstarter, is not a donation, it's rather (imho) more an investment (that's the wrong word, but I can not find a better one), even with the risk that this investment is going down the drain - but someone who gives money to a project has the right that the developers try to make an effort, which was not the case here (at least for a long time).

>>Projects can't promise to raise funds to donate to [..] a cause. Funds raised on Kickstarter must go towards facilitating the project outlined by the creator on the project page. <<

(4) Mistakes the developer made, *in my opinion*:
- Lack of or very inadequate communication with the community (I too had sent the developer a short request in 2015 (that was my first and last one) - no answer - and I waited patiently almost 2 years to write my first short mail)
- At the same time there was this Airbnb scandal thing (people tend to mix up different topics. The story seemed "to smell" like illegal activities, so everything else that this person does must be illegal..) and again no communication from the developer
(and the thing with "Knuckle Club" .. that was not completely comprehensible to me - but sounded at first as a good approach - then again missing (long-term) communication ..).
- The developer has absolutely miscalculated the financial situation.
- The developer was most of the time not honest about the progress of the work and the to be expected results.

(3) - Too enthusiastic in the imagination (I thought of a gaming mixture of Cyberpunk 2077-RPG-style and the good old Lucas Arts adventures with nice graphics and so...)
- My review (see above): I wanted it to be provocative funny, but it was full of emotions of disappointment about the product, and content-related not differentiated enough, I should have listed pros and cons, for example

- And very important (the big misbelief): Crowdfunding is not preordering a game!!
