Within the first hour I realized how much better this was then the other skating games on steam *cough* Session *cough*. The mechanics for the game are very smooth and intuitive. I really enjoy the change of pace that controls offer from the controls from the Skate series. It makes the game a lot more fun. On top of that, the game has a HUGE modding community. I mean HUGE. I feel like this game is carried by the community. Custom maps, maps from real life, people making their own designs and putting them in the game for people to wear and download. That's just the in-game mod browser. There is an online website for SkaterXL that houses a thousand more mods that can't be displayed in the in-game mod browser for various reasons but wow. Definitely worth the $40 I paid.

This game is honestly straight up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It's fun for the first hour but after that you realize that this game is just disappointing. The gameplay needs to be completely revamped with the physics system or whatever the ♥♥♥♥ they have going on here before it becomes worth it.
