I was hesitant to buy Katana ZERO - As side scroller-esque games aren't usually something I indulge in.

This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing.

The pixel art is astounding in most areas, and the animations give a unique feel you can't explain, simply drinking herbal tea is made unique through the animation style. The combat is incredibly fun, and the satisfaction of perfectly executing a level is incredible. Some rooms had me stuck for a good while and by the time I finished them, I knew them inside and out. The story gets confusing of course, but that's expected in a game about a junkie.

Also - This game was almost entirely made by one guy, and it's very impressive.

I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes strategical combat, or fast combat as you deflect bullets and manipulate time with ease!

I have around 900 hours in D2, and almost 400 in D1. (Skip to bottom for summary)

I got recommended D1 a long time ago, and I played it for what (at the time) felt like hours. And I found a lot of fun in things like crucible, and weapon grinding.

I didn't really have much interest in Destiny 2, until it was free with the playstation subscription service. This coincided with the same time Forsaken came out. It was an amazing hook back into the series, and that's where I racked up hundreds of hours, where the game was at it's peak for weapon grinding (in my opinion, of course). I think it sort of only went down from forsaken, or I found less interest in the game.

Season of the forge really pissed me off as a player, as I had spent so long grinding out materials and the very best of weapons, ready to take on the forges, only to find that all we had was one forge, that was almost impossible for anyone except the very best.

I ended up taking a long break from this game, and missed the majority of the three seasons, except the season of opulence, which I very much enjoyed as a DLC (even though it removed major grinding aspects).

Skip to shadowkeep, I spend $80 to be able to play straight away, and the first day was really fun. But then, all we really do is find a spooky pyramid under the moon. That was pretty much the whole story line, aside from hidden lore. Then we have a new "Season" system.

I could get behind the season system in the beginning, but now it has become a way to deliver repetitive and low-effort content with just a different aesthetic, which is ultimately disappointing, which brings us to now.

SUMMARY:
I have now left this game behind, as in it's current state, it is a shadow of what it was. Although I have recommended it due to the fact it is free and for a FTP player, it is a good triple A experience that you can't get in many other places. But an issue you may face is that if you are not playing this game very frequently, you will fall behind in levels, new weapons, or meta shifts throughout both PvP and PvE.

I CANNOT RECOMMEND BUYING ANY DLC OTHER THAN FORSAKEN AT THE TIME OF THIS REVIEW.

Would definitely reccommend, is worth the buy and is really fun with friends... But also the fact that it's pretty hard to find a game without friends... But it's still fun either way. The game is growing quite fast and I like that.

A beautiful mix of Terraria and space travel, this game is a masterpiece and is constantly looked after by it's developers. It is the easiest game I have come across to mod, custom textures and weapons are easy to make.

Okay, I wanted to wait until full controller support was added to review the game. So, I haven't had any bugs or glitchy experiences with the game, since last year it has been fully stable, which is great! Really down about the no multiplayer, they should hold a kickstarter for it! But still, fast pased crazy action that's worth the cash, thought it can get boring without a friend since there is little contect, I reccomend missions or more!

I'm very glad they have optimised 1.3 for Mac, so we didn't have to wait. This game is a slow-paced survival made by the same guys as Starbound.
