Early Access Review
I got this game exclusively because of all the Oculus Rift "support" they have been touting about. Now granted, the Rift is still in development, but for a game that has been showing it off everychance they get should make it work out of the box or at least with little effort. In game there is a check box for Oculus which you would think would be easy as clicking on that box and maybe restarting the game... nope. There has been a lot of talk in the forums about it and for now the response has been Hawken does not officially support the VR headset yet. Well okay fine, but seriously, the Rift will be out for consumers soon and I wouldn't be surprised if OculusVR is close to a final product by now.

Adhesive devlopers, I like the game I see here of the little I played sofar. The graphic fidelity is nice, the sound is great, I certainly recommend this game to those that love "Mech" and "Call of Duty" style game-play. But you really got to get the VR working better than it's current state. See "Star Conflict" by Gaijin. Also a F2P game and they have it working fantasticly!

I ordered a Oculus DevKit2 so I can review games with VR support for fellow gamers before the Oculus Rift consumer version is released. For now, I'm giving Hawken (cool name) a thumbs down because of the fact your VR support is, far as I'm concerned, very broken. I still look forward to playing your game and probably still will some. However, w/o the VR element that's been shown time and again that got me stoked, you have let me down and lost that excitment to play Hawken. It's a good game other than that. However, as far as a VR mech game goes, "VOX Machine" by Space Bullet has the right idea and is being built from the ground up. Even though VOX Machine may not have as high fifelity graphics as Hawken, their VR demo works out of the box and feels all that more immersive.

Conclusion, get the VR support working and I'll revist this review and Give it a thumbs up. Hawken is a great game that should live up to it's hype.
