Timeless classic, despite on outdated graphics and some network and sync issues - a gameplay and level design (except No Mercy heist) are still kicks in after 10+ years

The best indie co-op game killed by its own creators

It's a good game, definitely. Most likely you will not notice the problems of the game. But the more you play - the more you notice the problems.

You've probably already heard about the advantages of the game. Here I will tell you about the reverse side of the game.

1. Difficulty of the game. If you are an experienced player, you will quickly notice that even the most "hardest" difficulty is not hard at all. People are requesting more hard diff but GSG is don't care because "barely who will play on higher diffs". Of course there are mods for custom difficulties but even they have limits.
2. Mod support. Absolute failure and disappointment on the release. Now the situation with this is better but there are still problems: there is no normal notification about updating mods, inconvenient management of mods, Windows 7 users cannot install mods without installing some protocols, etc. The biggest meme is the restriction on the number of mods. In total, you can have a maximum of 50 mods. Why 50? Why does the game have a limit of installed mods at all?
3. Performance. Optimization has become significantly worse since S1 (U35). The system requirements specified on the Steam page are no longer relevant. Owners of old PCs/ laptops have to downgrade the graphics so that they can somehow play. Even owners of good PCs/laptops notice optimization problems.
4. Endgame content. There is practically none (except for increasing blue rank lmao). Initially, overclocks and deep dives were supposed to become them, but in reality they are not. Deep dives get boring very quickly (even EDD is not hard because in most cases you will have a tons of nitra) but overlocks...
5. GRIND. One of the main problems of the game that repels some people to play this game. GSG have made the worst time gates that even imaginable. There are currently 148 weapon overclocks in the game. You will have to spend about 4-6 months to unlock them all. 4-6 MONTHS, CARL. And now imagine how much it will take to unlock all cosmetics which are much more than weapon overclocks (matrix cores, lost equipment, cargo crates).
6. Balance. It wouldn't be that bad if devs not ignore veterans.
6.1 Overlocks. Some overlocks are completely broken, some are almost impossible to use because of their properties.
6.2 Weapon mods. Most weapons have a problem with the fact that there are have useless modifications that you will never take and modifications that you will always take, regardless of the overclock.
6.3 Weapons. All classes have weapons that practically outshine the others. Also, some weapons without overclocks are disgusting to use.
- Scout. The M1K is the most versatile and convenient choice in any situation. The same can be said about the crossbow.
Stock Zhukovs and GK2 are bad
- Engineer. Lok-1 in the right hands can do everything that is possible. Same with the Shard Diffractor.
PGL is an outsider (PGL is bad if comparing to other secondaries without of Fatboy and Hyper Propellant overclocks)
- Gunner. Hurricane is a direct upgrade of the autocannon. Yes, devs create a better version of existing weapon.
The Coil Gun is useless without overclocks.
- Driller. All the main weapons are usable. The EPC overrides all other secondary. You can do a lot more with it than with any other secondary.
7. Bugs and netcode problems. You can't miss them. Starting with visual bugs and ending with bugs that can lead to the failure of the mission. Some bugs are not that more than one year old but several years old (e.g.: a broken armor break for some weapons, praetorian vomit penetrating through walls, client physics).
Playing as a client in DRG is freaking hell. Even with an acceptable ping (approximately 50-60 ms), you can't always do the things that you would easily do on the host (for example, skip the animation of a pickaxe, axes throw spam). Also the damage of projectiles and axes may not be registered correctly or not registered at all. And Scout suffers a lot if he plays as the client.
8. Community, the current policy of the GSG and forgotten veterans. The community is fine ... well, it was fine. Most of the community don't even notice how they get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and they even like it. Almost the entire community has Stockholm syndrome. Where such conclusions come from, you may ask. The answer is simple - everywhere. It is enough to open and read Reddit, Discord, Steam, and so on. They will protect devs because they think that developers are angels, when in fact they have turned into devils.
GSG began to use the community for selfish purposes. Previously, they really cared about the quality of the game (34 updates in 2.5 years) and it was not a pity to give money for the DLC because you knew that you supported the developers and their policy. Now we get 2 updates a year with mediocre content and a small amount of it. Now the DLC is aimed at squeezing money out of blind fans. Especially the Support Pack II. Having bought the first support pack before - you really supported the devs. Now they marked the thematic DLC as "Support Pack 2" making their fans think that they "really support" the developers. "In celebration of DRG’s FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, we are now offering up the SUPPORTER II UPGRADE for our most dedicated players. Like our previous Supporter Upgrade, this pack is for those of you who really want to support Ghost Ship Games and our future developments, while getting your hands on a load of exclusive treats. Become a GSG GUARDIAN today!" That is how GSG describe this DLC. The irony is that the most loyal and faithful players have long been disappointed in the actions of the developers. The opinion of veterans of the game is no longer needed by anyone - the devs just ignore it, and the community denies all their opinions.

Results: DRG is degrated in terms of quality and amount of content. There is nothing to do for old/unlocked all content players. Devs is don't care about their own game anymore.

I wish things would change for the better in the future but most likely it won't happen.

Devs 8+ years downgrading their own game and now they added ♥♥♥♥♥♥ crossplay with EGS which no one asked (Imagine you need connection to EGS servers in Peer2Peer game ...)

Our salvation is in mods (good luck if devs didn't break your mods)
