This game is very, very good. If you like any From Software title since Demon's Souls, you will enjoy this game. Even if you don't like open world games, Elden Ring is chock full of so many interesting locations and things to discover, you will probably find yourself enjoy the open world aspect of it, because the exploration is so fun. There are plenty of very unique and very well designed enemies and bosses, and the creativity in the design and atmosphere of the game is fantastic. I absolutely love exploring the world and getting murdered occasionally in the process. However, there are some issues.

I run an RTX 3080, Ryzen 9 3950X, 64GB of RAM and a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB M.2 SSD. I experience very sudden, very brief FPS drops randomly, but not frequently. They occur both in the open world and in dungeons, because this game has an optimization issue, that From Software is allegedly working on at the time of writing this review. Some people have performance issues due to having Windows power settings set to "Power Saver," outdated graphics drivers, etc., but this game *does* have an optimization issue. If you can deal with some infrequent FPS drops and stuttering and are interested in the game, I recommend that you buy it. If not, maybe wait for a patch that solves all of the performance issues.

I don't think the overwhelming amount of 10/10 reviews from critics are overhyped, this game is incredibly fun and worth every penny. If you are new to Souls-like games, be patient, as you will more than likely die very often in the beginning and feel that the game is at times unfair, but it can have a steep learning curve for players that aren't used to this style of game. Good luck, Tarnished.
